Anal pain after d&c?

Hi ladies, dh laughed when I told him I was going to ask this but you ladies are always so helpful! But I was wondering if anyone had anal pain after their d&c? Like when I sat in the car the day afterwards it felt like my butthole (sorry, lol) was going to fall out! It was really uncomfortable and it's still a little sore. Like today I squatted down to straighten a rug up (OCD lol) and it hurt really bad. It's weird, I just wasn't sure if it was normal or if I need to call my doc. Also, it seems when I wipe back there it's bloody as well. I mean I'm still bleeding vaginally but when I wipe back there I still have blood on the toliet paper. Is that normal? I guess I need to double check to make sure that is where it's coming from but I thought I'd see if you ladies had any similar experiences.

Oh, and this is weird but when I took my shirt and bra off last night the veins in my boobs were REALLY dark! They became more noticeable after I found out I was pg but last night they were really dark, it was weird. Any ideas on what would cause that to happen?

Well, I can tell you that I was super constipated after my d&c. I guess it was from the anesthesia and/or pain meds, but it really set in several days after. It was soooooo bad and I was soooooo uncomfortable that I took laxatives for 2 days then a bottle of magnesium citrate did the trick (something I never do) to relieve the pain and pressure. So, it wasn't exactly "anal pain" but I can tell you that sitting down and other positions were really painful, and it was only relieved, well, when I was relieved. If you are concerned though, definitely call your doc.

I did not have any pain in that region

. I would call your doctor just to be sure. Not that it couldn't be totally normal but I am crazy about calling my doctor over everything out of the normal for me. I hope you get some relief soon and feel better. Lots of

The butt pain sounds like a hemorrhoid, which can be caused by constipation/straining. They are not fun.

Hi,
after my D & C I was constipated for nearly a week and one day felt so shocking I thought I was going to faint.
Maybe try eating a few prunes and drink some peppermint tea and see what happens. Mine were the tablets they gave me for after the D & C that caused it...
Like always though, any thing that concerns you call your dr to be safe.

I actually had lancing pain throughout my rectal area, sometimes random and sometimes while squatting. I was worried and wondered if I was injured during my D&E but the pain went away after a week so simply figured I was healing after the procedure. The blood does cause concern and I would follow up with a doc just to make sure there wasn't a perforation while you had the D&C done. (this is usually mentioned as a rare risk on the release papers you sign)

Red blood on your TP means that the external rectal skin is perforated/irritated and bleeding. Make sure that the blood's not IN your stool, because that would be cause for greater concern re: perforation. I agree with Heather - sounds like hemorrhoid. I avoid traditional laxatives when I'm constipated and make a cup of senna tea at night. It's called several things (Dieter's Tea, Smooth Move) and really softens bowel movements.

Shew, I've been keeping a close eye on that area over the last few days and I don't think that I am bleeding from that area, must have just been coming from the vaginal area. Yay!

I have only had very bad rectum pain when I had diagnosed ovarian cysts. They were so bad that I ended up in the er. Felt like someone was taking knives and pushing them up there! Once the cysts went away so did the pain. I would call your dr and have them do an u/s just in case.

I did not have a d&c, but would have to agree that it sounds like a hemrrhoid... have you had any constipation? The pg hormones may have caused it or like someone else had said pain meds can too. I hope all is ok Mrscales!

How are you feeling physically & emotionally? (only if you want to talk about it)
