I see that many people get BFPs quickly after a m/c. I have done some research and haven't come up with much as to why?? Anyone have any insight??

Some say that your more fertile after m/c, but my dr. did not confirm that. I think alot depends on how healthy you are, how old you are and how far along you were. You just here about it more here, becasue thats why we are all here right? I would say the average is 4-6 months, that is what my dr. told me to expect.

They say you're extra fertile following miscarriage, not exactly sure why. Unfortunately, I'm not one of those people as my m/c was in march and I'm still waiting for a bfp.

I have also heard that "they" say you are more fertile although I have never figured out who "they" are and how they know. However, my sister and cousin both got pg immediately following early m/c (one 5 wks the other 7wks). It took us 4 months after my first m/c to get pg again (sadly that didn't last long) and still waiting on this cycle to see...

I'm thinking it would have something to do with your cervix opening up for the "labor" of miscarrying...

Than again, you shed everything from the miscarriage and maybe it's "totally clean" in your uterus

I'm not sure... those are my theories

I lost my first baby on the 24th of July. All bleeding/spotting stopped around 4 days later. I swore I was ovulating yesterday. We DTD yesterday. My doctor told me it would be safe to try again after my first AF. Like what Celena said, my cervix may still be a little open and there probably isn't enough lining left over for a baby to implant. I will let you know what happens, if anything, if you're curious.

My doctor said you are no more fertile after than before. It is just most people (like us on this board) try right away again. And chances are good (while I am not one of the lucky ones.. ) That when you know when you are O'ing you will concieve quickly. I hope you get your BFP soon!

I am worried that will be me too...it took me a year to get pregnant this time. From what i have seen, it looks like several people get BFPs from 2-5 months. I have a friend who is pregnant now who had a miscarriage before her first daughter. It took her a long time to get pregnant with her angel and then just 4 months after to get pregnant with her daughter. 4 months seems like a long time, but after a year, i'd gladly take just 4 months!!

I thought that your chances of conceiving after a loss are about the same as they were before your pregnancy. Who knows, I have heard the same thing too. It does give me hope though.
