My doctor had told me you have to have at least three with no live children... As for me I have had 2 and have a live child.. so he told me I would be considered high risk until after next May when I will be 35.. than I will be do to advanced maternal age.. (Dosent make me feel better, Makes me feel old.. HAHA)

from my own experience, a single loss (or even two) won't indicate high risk. I'm in the advanced maternal category, and while I ended up with extra testing & u/s through a perinatologist, i was not classified high risk and my OB doesn't do any additional monitoring of me than for a younger woman.

I think if you have multiple losses and/or the losses are related to an underlying medical condition (blood clotting, etc) as opposed to unknown causes, you would be monitored more closely in early pregnancy (or even pre-pregnancy) as high (or higher) risk. In my case they had no cause for my m/c - my OB doesn't do early betas and first u/s only occurs after 8wks...so my 2nd pregnancy wasn't handled any different than my 1st from a monitoring perspective.

You're not considered high risk, but if your OB is open to your needs, they will understand your desire for reassurance that your baby is ok. I'm definitely planning on talking to my OB about listening to baby's heartbeat on the doppler at each visit, and possibly getting a couple more ultrasounds then they would usually give.

Unfortunately because m/c is common you won't be considered high risk for your next pregnancy.
