After two weeks, my beta's are still 70. I'm not spotting, my cervix is LSC (low soft and closed) How are my beta's going to lower when my body is acting like it is over?? does anyone know? I'm really worried that I'm still going to have to get a D & C after all of this, and trying to MC naturally. Which is frustrating, because if I had known that, I would have gotten the D & C two weeks ago, and been done with it already.

Also, I'm on CD15, and I feel that I won't O till all the HCG is out of my system. I also have PCOS, so I'm getting very frustrated with my body, cause I feel that it will be 20-40 days after all the HCG is out of my system before I O...

I don't know if anyone has any experience with this?? I just want to be able to move forward!!!

I don't really have any advice, especially regarding the PCOS, but I would say that if your levels don't drop soon you might want to look into having a D&C. If you have to have one, it's really not too bad. I elected to have one after my m/c just to make sure I would be done with everything right then. I just hope your body can work things out on its own.

I can't really offer any advice, only support! I hope you can get it all figured out soon!

I would call your doctor and express your concern. I know there is a medicine that some of the ladies on here took to help have a natural m/c but I had to have a d/c with my first one since I was farther along and I felt that was alot better to have it over quickly and know everything was removed and that my tubes were flushed.... If you have a natural m/c your tubes may become blocked. Hth and please keep us updated.

I am so sorry that it is taking so long. I know how frustrating that can be. I thought I read somewhere that it can take up to a month for the hormones to get out of a woman's system. This probably depends on how high her levels were before it happened.

You would think that you wouldn't need a D & C unless you still have some tissue left. I would call your doctor if your concerned. My doctor put me on methergine for 3 days to help stop my bleeding (which you don't have) and it can help to get any left over tissue out. I don't know if this helps any. I hope that your body starts to cooperate with you soon!

I went through this exact same thing with my miscarriage.

I thought I had miscarried everything naturally - I went for my 2 week follow up and I still had really light bleeding. I also still got a positive pregnancy test. They weren't concerned, told me that I still had tissue to pass. I never had severe cramping, I had just started bleeding and passing tissue/clots.

I think a week after that I got the INTENSE cramping. Like I was in tears, curled up in the fetal position on the couch. I had DH come home early from work because I was too scared to move it hurt so bad. The bleeding never increased. I started to panic because I could tell something was wrong and that my body was trying to get rid of the tissue that was left. That was the worst night of my miscarriage - I spiked a fever of 103, was told to go to the ER and then told just to wait until the morning because it was so busy I would just be waiting in pain.

Somehow I managed to fall asleep...still no increase in bleeding. I woke up the next morning - no fever at all. A few days later I went in and met with a new midwife and explained that I was STILL bleeding lightly - for a timeline, we are at 3.5 weeks now. I wanted answers. She did a pelvic and actually managed to find a piece of tissue that was stuck and said....lets do an ultrasound on Tuesday and see whats going on, you may need a D&C afterall. I was also still testing positive on a PG test.

Thats when I just lost it. I explained to her I battled through this miscarriage just fine up until this point. All I wanted was to get through it the "easiest" way possible for my body, no surgery, so we could TTC again ASAP. She held my hand and said, well lets try this medication over the weekend as something to do while we are waiting for the ultrasound. She also said that if my ultrasound wasn't clear, I could try the meds again before doing the D&C.

She gave me two pills of Misopropal (Cytotec). She also gave me a prescription for Tylenol 3. The pills were to be inserted inside as close to my cervix as I could get them. She offered to do it but some women reacted quickly to it and some needed a few hours. I decided to do it the next day (a Saturday) when we were home.

I got all set up, took 1 tylenol, waited 30 minutes and inserted the Miso. And I laid in bed with books and needlepoint and movies all ready to spend the day laid up. And nothing happened. All day I waited for this medicine to kick in, haha. I called the on call midwife, asked if I could get another dose...anything! Then around 11:30, I went ahead and took 1 more tylenol just in case (and to help me sleep). I'm so glad I did because I woke up around 7 am with menstrual like cramps. Just like with AF, dull aches. I went and checked and my bleeding had picked up! Yay! I took another tylenol, went to sleep and woke up at about 11:30. I still had heavier bleeding but no more cramping.

The bleeding stayed heavier (probably like medium to heavy, not even as bad as it was originally). I had a few clots...it looked like the meds were doing what they were supposed to. Tuesday I went for the ultrasound, scared out of my mind and the first thing the tech said was "Looks like all the tissue is out!". DH & I both cried , we were so relieved. She checked everything and let me know I did have a few more clots remaining so I would bleed for maybe a few more days. She even pointed out that I had a cyst growing so it was likely I would O in the next week or so.

She was right - I think I bled for 2 or 3 more days, O'd normally. Went and saw the midwife, had a NEGATIVE pg test (YAY!!!). She gave me a hug, sent us home and I waited 2-3 more weeks for AF to come. Then we caught the next eggie and I am now PG again!

All in all, I ended up dealing with my miscarriage for a month. It was horrible and I kept saying, I should have just gotten the D&C and been done with it, but it all worked out in the end. I'm glad I finally spoke up and said I was tired of "waiting and seeing". Most of the time its just a tiny amount of tissue thats "stuck". The Miso gets your uterus contracting (which is what was happening the day that I had the severe pain but it just couldn't get it out) and also softens your cervix so it can open up and allow the tissue to pass.

I hope my story can help you some!

I hope they go down soon. Maybe just ask them what they can do. I had this long post about vaginal pill and then read what heather wrote...so i think that covers it! I hope you get something soon!!

I hope they go down soon. I think there is medicine you can take before you would have to have the D&C. I had one and it wasn't that bad.

I'm sorry Marci.... I don't know what to say really other than get back to your doc asap and have yourself checked out. From there they can help either get things out if anything is retained or see with an u/s at least to see if there is something in there, there's meds that can take care of it rather than surgery.

I'm not having a good time either. I don't really know what's going on, I had "labor" for a couple days and passed ALLOT of clots and big fleshy things, so at this point I just don't know. I'm almost POSITIVE of the day I o'd, but dr doesn't seem to think that's a possibility... he thinks perhaps I have placental tissue in there and wants more bloodwork *jic* it's something else, possibly giving me methotextrate (a chemotherapy drug, which I'm scared to DEATH of)

I would call your doctor. I have pcos and when I m/c I had one larger cyst and a handful of little ones. Once I started spotting and they told me I was in the beginning of the miscarrying I wish I would have spoke up and asked for a D/C but they didn't even give me that options and sent me home. My experience is not as bad as some ladies have posted before on here and other threads, I think I just played dumb and was numb to the whole experience and what was actually going on. I ended up in the hospital 8 days later in so much pain and my hgc level were still high even though I had passed a lot of tissue/clots. They thought that maybe I was carrying twins and that one was an ectopic. After a very painful trans v ultrasound it turns out it was the cysts causing all the pain not an ectopic. With the cramping to pass the tissue the cysts had twisted my one tube. They put me on Birth control right away to control the cysts and try to have them decrease in size. I had to stay on B/C for 5 months before my doctors would even allow me to start thinking of trying again.

I hope you get some answers, and that things go more smoothly from here so you can move on.

I agree with everyone else...call your doc in the morning and ask for an u/s to make sure that you don't have any retained tissue. Your hcg won't go down until that is out of your system. Good luck!!

Thank you so much girls...The HCG has been dropping, it just seems to be dropping very slowly...I guess because it was so high to begin with. I have a feeling it's done now...(I have started having solid bowel movements again, which was the only MC symptom I had left.) Sorry if TMI. I am hoping that the numbers will be zero on Wednesday, if not, I will ask her for the pills to take. I appreciate your feedback.
