I have been using opks for 3 cycles now.

The first cycle I had FIVE days of DEFINITE +ve opks. Now I'm assuming that can't have been right and I put it down to my body still recovering post m/c (we waited one cycle before ttc again, didn't use opks the 2nd cycle so this was the 3rd cycle post m/c).

The next cycle I had just one day of +ve opks (tested twice a day). This last cycle I had 2 days of positives (3 out of 4 tests).

I was just wondering if there is a standard no. of days you would normally see the +ve on the opk? How many days do you get +ve's?

Thanks ladies!

I think standard is 1-2 days. though some women get a second LH surge causing more days, because there body got ready to O and just didn't. Hope this helps. Good luck to you.

Ya, I've not started to use opk (waiting for the ones I ordered & the results from tomorrows dr appt)

Anyways, I've heard 1-2 days are normal... whatever day/time you get the darkest darkest line is when.

I hope I haven't confused you

This could explain my 5 days of positives and I suppose also makes sense that my body was still out of whack after m/c. I really didn't know what was going on!

Once you get one + OPK, you don't need to keep testing. If everything is normal, you should ovulate sometime in the next 12 - 48 hours (on average). It's only when you don't get your temp shift after, meaning that you really didn't ovulate yet, that you may want to test again. Your body could have been gearing up to ovulate (+OPK) and then got delayed (no temp elevation) and then had another LH surge to "try again". This could explain the many days of + OPKs.

I temp as well as OPK, so I always stop testing OPK after my first +. It just makes things easier for me and then I don't keep wondering if today's line is darker than yesterday's and obsessive stuff like that.
