Hi ladies,

I unfortunately will be coming back to this board in a couple months and probably will lurk while I wait! I was on this board a couple years ago after I had 2 miscarriages. I am happy to say that I have a beautiful DD, so to all those ladies who are frustrated (I know the feelings all to well)... don't give up hope!!

I should be 11 weeks pregnant. DH and I started talking about trying again this summer. (DH was really scared to try though because I got really depressed last time and after the 2nd m/c I admit I felt a little crazy! I ended up taking meds to help with the depression and even went to counseling at one point.) Well, we ended pregnant the first month that we didn't prevent. I kept thinking that I wouldn't have a miscarriage because I already had my 2 miscarriages. I just thought the odds were in my favor and since I had 2 maybe I would never have one again! Not very good logic. Well, the weeks slowly went by and I had a little spotting but nothing serious (I had spotting with DD also). I was concerned because of my lack of symptoms... but the OB coordinator reassured me that some women don't have morning sickness. I was scheduled for a u/s at 7 weeks and the u/s tech said that I was measuring a little earlier (5 weeks 1 day). I cried because I new I was going to miscarry. She tried to reassure me that I could just be earlier than I thought... but I new. I had a positive pregnancy test 3 weeks earlier... So I cried, and cried, and cried... and waited to miscarry. The bleeding started a few days later and was heavy for 2 weeks and light for another week and a half. I still occasionally have some spotting even 4 weeks later.

So 4 weeks later I am still having blood drawn to check my levels. I have to go today for another one. I am crossing my fingers since my last draw I was at 76. I would love to start TTC now... but the doc said to wait 2 cycles and he might run some of the same tests he ran last time. I also asked about taking progesterone. He doesn't believe in it... but I used progesterone cream every day during my first trimester with Abrielle and she is the only baby I got to hold in my arms!! So he agreed to put me on it if and when I get pregnant again. So I will be around but we won't be actually TTC for a while.

I am so sorry for your loss. Why would your doctor be against progestrone? My new obgyn today said that low progestorne can be a cause of miscarriage as progestrone keeps the pregnancy viable until the placenta takes over at about 11-12 weeks. Have you been tested for low levels in the past?

Hi Amanda!

I'm really very sorry to hear about your loss and that you're coming back here, it's nice to meet you but not under these circumstances. I really hope that this opens up for great fertility for you and you get your BFP sooner than later.

Lurk all you want, would love to get to know you.
