So, yesterday, DH and I and our neighbors went out to eat at Chilis. When we were leaving, DH and neighbor see the lady who helped both of us choose custom cabinets for our houses when we were finishing the wet bars (in both houses). We were finishing the bars last fall.
Anyway, I have only met this lady once...so I recognize her but don't really know her. We all walk up to say hi and the first thing she does is look at my stomach and say "oh! You've had the baby!".
OMG! We didn't tell a lot of people about my last pregnancy...mostly because I had already lost the first one. But my DH randomly told the cabinet lady...you know, it's one of those people you aren't really worried about telling because you will never run into them again. Well we sure did run into her...and she sure did remember.
It was such an awkward situation. I said "No, we didn't have the baby". And the lady laughed! Because she thought I was joking! My DH literally shoved me towards the door of the restuarant and told me to leave.
Just when you think you will almost get through a day without thinking of your loss...it comes back and hits you in the face.

Oh gosh, how awkward. I am sorry.
You know, someone who has never experienced a loss would never think of that. I am sure she felt horrible.
It doesn't make it better for you. Big Hugs............

Oh geeze! Liz I'm so sorry I hope you're doing okay right now!
God bless him, it's not his fault... This lady should have had a crappier memory, geesh Okay, I'm trying to crack a joke to cheer you up even just a little... my attempt at humor isn't so great right now, sorry. (it's always rather dry actually)

Love it! Seriously, how the heck did she even remember me or that?? Funny side note...I actually think this chick was totally in love with DH. I teased him about it ALL the time. She is much older than him! So maybe that's why she remembered me so well....hahaha.

oh Liz, that's just so awful...what terrible luck that the one person you told not only has some super-human memory but also that you'd randomly run into her again??? seriously, go play the lottery or something this weekend 'cause those were amazing odds you just beat.
HUGS
