After I posted how good I was feeling.. Last night, I got off the computer stood up and it hit me all over again. I started to vomit again, and my back was aching so bad all day, It got worse at that point. I told Tom I had to go the ER since I took my temp and it was 99.5 a low grade fever. So I had been vomiting since the morning, (the first time I vomited it was dinner from the previous night, ate at 4pm) And also sever diarrhea and than sereve back ache, followed by low grade temp. I go to the ER... they did Blood work.. neg pregnancy test.. So I guess I am out for this month, YET AGAIN!!!!! Yes I know it is still early.. but I can say I am out this month Neg blood work... If I was Pregnant it sould of picked up at least a 1. They do a CT scan and I had a large ovarian cyst rupture (free fluid and blood) and this caused Peritonitis (Inflamation of the lining that covers the intenstines) which inturn caused all the above. They also saw on the scan a calcified object.. They THINK it might be a stone in my appendix or they also mentioned a calcified ovary (wouldn't that just be my luck!!!!) The ER doc said the next plan would be to have a another CT with contrast, but he didn't want to over radiate me any more than he did.. one CT is equal to 100 chest X rays. I now have to follow up with my regular doc for the Appendix thingy, and I will have to follow up with my OB with the large cyst. I guess the above would explain the pain I have been having for all these months... Ovarian cysts. I know they are common but A large one like the one I had.. might be why I haven't concived. Now I am flipping what if it is a calcified ovary? Than what happens.. I'm down one ovary.. and one that has cysts on it? Will I ever have a child with my dh? I write this in tears.

Kary... oh hun.. I am so so so so so sorry to read about this horrible experience. I just want to hug you. You don't deserve this. It's not fair. You shouldn't have to go through anything else EVER! I truly hope you are feeling better physically today or that you will soon... I also hope that they are wrong about your ovaries. I truly hope that this one cyst was causing the problem, and that now that it's gone, things will go back to normal and you'll conceive again soon. I hope you will get some more medical attention now, though I'm sorry it had to come to this.
I really don't know the right words to say today, but I truly hope this is the end of this trough in your life and that things do nothing but get better, starting right now!!

omg Kary that's terrible - BIG HUGS to you. Try not to panic too much about the ovary/cyst situation until they can do a better scan and/or get you in with a specialist...hopefully it's not the worst case scenario and right now you need to focus on just getting better. I'm glad you caught this before it got even worse...to think we thought it was *just* food poisoning...now at least they can hopefully treat you and get you healthy quickly. Wishing you a very speedy recovery sweetie!

That sucks so much! On one hand, it's scary, but on the other hand, maybe now the fertility people can stop farting around and you can form a plan of attack! Hugs!

Kary, Im so sorry for your night in the E.R. Just a little info here on the cysts, my sister had ovarion cycsts real bad. They got to the size of grapefruits on her. She ended up on the pill to regulate the cycsts. She was on them for 4 months to get the cycsts back to normal size. The reason she had such big ones was due to every month during ovulation, her egg would get absorbed into the cycst. Hense making her infertile. When the cycsts went away after 4 months of the pill, she was able to concieve within 3 months after. I pray they have found this for you and that they can treat it quickly like her. I know her 4 months seemed like forever, but when she concieved finally in the end, it was worth it.
As for the loss of one ovary, you will still be able to concieve and your chances will not be cut in half like you may think. The remaining ovary, if this is the case for you, will produce usually every month to make up for the other one. I would wait for the next scan to even begin thinking about that anyway, as one CT scan cannot confirm this.
Hang in there honey, as weird as it sounds, Im glad your cycst burst leading you to the er, otherwise you may have gone on longer and longer TTC. My sister was trying for 2yrs before they found hers.
KUP and try and get some rest today.

HOLY MOLY Kary! Good thing that you had DH take you in!!! I hope the results aren't as scarey as what they said in the ER... Your OB/GYN and PCP dr's will be able to have a good full scale search in those things the ER saw, hopefully they can aleviate some of the scarity and put into words in a better way what is going on. I hope you get more information that you can work with then being scared out of your wits!
Kary I'm sorry you're going thru this right now, but don't loose faith and keep your chin up! Now you can get insight as to what's going on and get treatment to heal You are a SUPER STRONG SUPER WOMAN!!!! Please keep your eyes on the light at the end of the tunnel, that ER visit was a Godsend!!!! A blessing in diguise!!!!
I know it's hard to be optimistic when you find scarey things out like that with your health, it's hard not to let it affect your emotional being... until you find out absolutly, positively you have something try not to research it, or put allot of analytical thought into it because from that you will work yourself up into all these scenarios and what if's that make your future grim to yourself. Please save yourself the agony honey... I know about wanting to be prepared for the worst, I think most of us women do that so we're not disappointed but it happens anyway as much as we try to *prepare* ourselves.
Please keep us posted on everything you want to share about what's going on, you're in my thoughts and prayers! (and I say them everyday, multiple times!) I wish the best for you, pray you can get thru this strong and on top MWAH!

Oh kary I'm so sorry your going through all of this. You can email me anytime. I have been dealing with cysts for the last 4 years. I know all to well the pain they cause. Best advice right now rest and relax so your body can recover, don't panic to much cysts are more of a big pain in the *** than anything. keep us updated and I'm here to talk anytime.

Kary, I'm so sorry you had such a crappy night. all I can say is that I'm glad you went to the ER and they found the ruptured cyst. Did they do anything for it??? I really hope it's just a stone not a calcified ovary. don't freak yourself out unnecessarily. maybe now that the cyst is gone, you won't have a problem getting a BFP. Just glad that you are okay!

I'm so sorry to hear of your trip to the ER! Don't get too down about this until you have a few more appointments and check with some other experts. It may sound worse that it really is. Fingers crossed you'll get some better news soon.

I'm so sorry! I hope you are feeling better today.....maybe the cyst bursting is a good omen and little eggs with soon follow? Is there any other way to find out if the other ovary is calicified? What causes that? Sending healing thoughts your way!

Oh Ladies Thanks for all you well wishes! I spoke to my OB office.. and when Af shows I will call them on day one and set up blood work for CD3, than they will bring me in for the U/S.. at that time they will check the ovaries.. they should be able to tell if the one is calcified at that time. I still have to f/u with my primary care doc... to go over, if he wants the follow up CT.. or if he wants me to go right to a surgon to talk about removing the appendix, since if it is a stone I was told by the ER doc I have an increased chance of developing an infection and almost all the time the Apendix will rupture when thier is a stone. The question is should I wait and take a chance it won't happen.. or take care of it before I get pregnant?
Oh and I was asked what they did... I was given Zofran for nausea, Tordol and dilaudid for pain. (I don't like dilaudid, I didn't like the way I felt)

I am so so sorry about what you are going through. I hope that your doctors are able to help you and that these issues in no way impede you from conceiving again. I really hope that everything is fine with your ovary but just wanted to share that my sis in law conceived two children in 3 years with one ovary!

Keeping you in my prayers lady!!! GIGANTIC HUGS to you!!!
Hope this week flies by until your ob appt! the waiting game is never fun!
I think you're right about not waiting on the appendix, especially when you get pregnant if for some reason it acts up surgery isn't an option unless your & baby's life is threatened... definitly won't hurt to get it further looked into. Hope your doc's office can squeeze you in asap or refer you to a surgeon.
