Has anyone had any experience with OPK in the cycle right after m/c? I just had this loss recently but I decided to continue what I'd been doing before I got pregnant, charting and using ovulation test strips. Before I got pregnant I used these same ovulation strips (the cheap ones off the internet) for about 5 cycles and they worked great. For me the strip was always completely white in the test line area until the day before I O'd. That day would be a faint line, but definitely lighter than the control line. The next day it would be really dark, the day after would be faint again and then back to white. It coincided with my temp shift every time, so I felt pretty confident it was working.

I just tested for the first time since my m/c (I'm at CD 12 counting from the first day of real bleeding) and it is showing up with a faint line. Normally I don't O until about CD 20 so I don't know what to think about this.

Do you think it could be residual hCG being picked up by the test? If so, does that mean my m/c was not complete? I stopped bleeding on CD 8 and have felt fine the last few days.

Has anyone found an OPK coming up with a line like this after m/c?

I guess it is possible that I could really be gearing up to ovulate even though it's early for me, but who knows what my body is doing after all this.

Anyway, I just wondered if anyone else had seen this. Sorry for the long post...

I don't know if OPKs pick up on HCG, but I do know that after my m/c, I had to keep going back to the doctor for blood tests to make sure my hcg levels went all the way down to zero. It was my understanding that if my body continued to make hcg, that meant there was still some tissue that hadn't passed, and they would need to take care of that. You might want to go back to the doctor just for a simple blood test to make sure.

I'm only a newbie when it comes to OPKs (this is my second cycle using them). But I can say my cycles were very different after my m/c compared to what they had been before. I had three abnormal cycles and now my fourth cycle seems to be returning to normal.
