My name is Kat and I am waiting on my hcg to drop to 0 and start my first cycle after a d&c for a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks. My d&c was 9-2 and hcg on 9-8 was 147. I go back Tues for the next level. Here is hoping for a very low #.

My question is this - Once I drop to zero - will I then ovulate and then have AF a couple of weeks later or will AF start soon after the levels hit 0 or will my usual cycle start and I ovulate sometime in the next two weeks after AF? I know every one is different, but I really would like to hear personal experiences. It will at least give me something to pass my time until this wait is up! It's almost as bad as symptom spotting on the TWW.

Thank you so much!

kat.

Kat I am so sorry for your loss.... Yes you can Ovulate at anyime once your levels reach 0. I never tested right after my m/c I can can tell you that I would always O on CD13-14... the first cycle after my M/C I O'd on CD15-16... So I was pushed back a few days.. it took about 5 cycles to O again on the CD13... I am in the process of having my third m/c and I will be using OPK's to see where I am this time.. Good Luck Trying again and Welcome to the board. HUGS

Hi Kat..so sorry for your loss!!! HUGS!!!
I had a missed m/c at 12 weeks (baby measured 8 1/2 weeks) and my levels went down really fast. I had AF exactly 4 weeks after the m/c. I think you will probably O 2 weeks after your levels are down to 0. Good luck ttc again!

HUGS! I'm sorry to welcome you here sweetie.

I ovulated five weeks after both my D&Cs - approx 3 weeks after the bleeding stopped. But like you said, everyone is different!

so I wanted to answer some of your questions too

With me it was ovulating before first AF, I did right after my mc (my levels had zeroed out, -hpt) then a couple weeks later I had a period

Sorry for your loss. I don't think I will be much help to you because I never had a D&C. I hope your levels drop quickly and that your body returns to normal soon.

Welcome Kat, and Im so sorry for your loss.

I o'd within 1wk of d&c and got first AF a couple of weeks later. Very quick for me, but the next cycle and several there after were way different. I always o'd around cd 10-12 and after if was 17-19. Im now finally back to cd10-11 and my cycles are normal. It has been 6 months.

Good luck to you sweetie, and when your ready we will be here to help you through the process.

I had a D&C with my second loss. I didn't bleed too much after the procedure. However, I did start bleeding all over again right around the time when my levels got down to 0. It was like my body didn't realize I had a D&C and then tried to "miscarry" when the levels were down. Also, my cycles were extremely screwed up for almost 3 months after. Who knows what was going on with my body!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome! I also hate the circumstances in which we must meet, but I am glad we are all here for each other.

Today is day 10 post d&c and I really feel like I am about to ovulate. I don't use testing or strips - my body is usually good at alerting me. I have had the thicker cm, mixed with some ewcm and I started having ovary pains last night and my skin was so oily yesterday. I am not convinced it is ovulaiton though - it could just be my body recovering. Prior to being pregnant - I did ovulate on day 10, so I guess it is possible.

My doctor put me on pelvic rest for 30 days (!!!!). I think she is very determined for me not to get pregnant this cycle which is OK. I would much rather wait a month and not go through all the stress of early sonogram/hormone level dating that goes with not having LMP.

My heart goes out to each of you - this was a shocking loss for me and I never expected it. Emotionally I am OK, I know when it is right, it will happen. I have a lot of stuff to keep me busy and looking forward. I rejoined my soccer teams and picked up the fall races that I had dropped.

I look forward to getting to know you guys.

Kat.

Hi Kat,

I am sorry for your loss. I have had a natural m/c and also a D&C and both times my cycles have returned to normal bascially straight away (I got AF within 4 weeks of my loss). With the natural m/c my right tube ended up blocked and took 12 months to find out so that was a little different. I didn't use OPK's or anything but I am assuming from this that I o at my usual time. Everyone is different but it is definitely possible! Best of luck!

Kat. I'm very sorry for your loss. I had a natural m/c and my cycles started back straight away. Everyone is different though and it can take several weeks for some women to get their cycles back on track.

Well FF has decided that I am ovulating and I am more confident now that that is the case. Good news is I had prepared myself to wait 8-9 weeks for my cycle to return, bad news I am ovulating - hyper stimulated and on pelvic Rest!!!!!

I really am grateful to have all you guys. I found this forum because I was a member of the April DDC and really enjoyed that forum and I am finding myself just as fond of this group of ladies. Maybe more, because my heart goes out to each of you.

Kat.

I am soooo sorry that you are here with me. I am starting to get over the shock, but it is still really tough at times. DH has taken it very hard, which makes it even harder! There are several from the April DDC, too many really. Here's hoping that we are all members of June/July DDC's!

To answer your question in your intro post - my Dr. told me to wait 30 days before having sex (I had a D&C) and then I could start TTC again after my first AF. She was adament that I wait until 1 AF and I think it is for dating purposes. (I had a missed M/C, so knowing my dates was pretty important)
