I am on Septra for a UTI. But on the bottle it says "Check with your doctor if you plan to become pregnant while using this medicine" Which is strange since my OB/GYN prescribed it and knows I am TTC... I googled it, and apparently Septra interferes with the absorption of Folic Acid! Now I am scared! I don't want to concieve a kid with neural tube defect. I do eat Vegemite, which is high is Folic acid in addition to taking prenatals.... Do you think I will be ok? BTW, I am 5 DPO.

I'm sure you will be fine. How long are you taking it for??? remember a lot of women don't even kow they are pregnant until after AF is a no show and probably don't take any prenatal vitamins in the first few weeks. Maybe take an additional folic acid supplement besides the prenatal.

I think it's too early right now for it to affect a fetus since it wouldn't be implanted until anywhere from 7-12dpo and even then it would be so early on.... keep taking your prenatals and you can add 200mcg (Kary said women TTC should take 1000mcg vs the 800 they say for chilbearing age)

Call your doctor and mention it

I would imagine you are fine and your doctor isn't worried if he knew you were ttc. I know I mentioned DH and I were going to start ttcing and they changed my allergy medicine to one more safe.
