I just had to vent on this one. Currently, I'm sitting in my kitchen waiting to go back to the doctors. I had an appt with a perinatologist at 1000am but thye had to push it back to noon. So...I'm playing hooky from work.

Anyway, so I know how much we all LOVE waiting rooms. NOT!. As if it's not difficult enough seeing all these pregnant women. Oh, and the only thing they have to read is Baby/Parenting magazines. So, I was already in a grim mood. All of a sudden this lady and her partner and probably her mom come out of the door from the offices. She is crying and crying. And I felt so bad for her because I figured she just had a D&C or confirmed miscarriage or something isn't right with her pregnancy.

Her mom is asking her "why are you crying?" and the woman says, "A third kid...I can't believe it...how will we pay for childcare?". Then I see the partner start passing around ultrasound pictures. WHAT? I almost got up and punched that lady in the face. Here I am seeing a high risk doctor because I can't get pregnant and she is having, what appears to be, another unplanned pregnancy! Maybe I should have leaned over and said "adoption is a wonderful gift"...but I was a little angry.

(Disclaimer: Obviously I don't know the full story on this woman and I do understand childcare is expensive...however, I also believe you can decide if you want to get pregnant or not.)

I would have been so pissed! My SIL keeps having unplanned pregnancies, and she complains all the time! Knowing full well that we have had 8 miscarriages, sometimes I just want to smack her!

OH LIZ... YOU are a better woman than I .... at my mental state right now I think I would have screamed! I am so sorry you had to sit through that. I understand.. how "accidents" can happen... but 1 is an accident two or more are stupidity!.. And this is comming from a teenage mom.... (19 years ago that is)

Now it is possible that she was using birth control and still got pregnant...I guess you have to give her the benefit of the doubt, but it's still a blessing and you don't go crying about it in public. some people!

My best friend has had 2 oppses. At least she is super sweet to me - and never complains. The second one she was taking the pill religiously. Sometimes things are beyond our control - both ways. I try my best be understanding of how frustration this can be for all of us. - but it sure can be hard not to get mad - i know!

PLEASE EXCUSE MY LANGUAGE, BUT.....

NO ****!!! I HATE IT for numerous reasons.... (and I loathe the word hate)

1) DON'T SPREAD YOUR LEGS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET PREGNANT!!!!

2) USE BIRTH CONTROL!!!!!!!!!! Condoms, pills, SOMEthing!! Spermicidal jelly!! A freaking IUD!!!

OMFG, that **** pisses me off.... don't get me started because I do not have self-control for the profanities that spew out of my mouth as pertaining to that subject. (I have felt VERY passionately about that since I was a teenager)

I'm sorry Liz.... I got a little caught up in that woman's reaction.

Well, I think Celena said it all....

Of course, it could have been a truly freakish accident for the 3rd time, you never know, but more often than not it's people who just don't care enough to prevent and then have the nerve to complain about it! They drive me crazy too (and I know a few of them!!!).

haha! Thanks, ladies. You all are hilarious! That particular doctor's office is where I had my D&C so it's already an emotional experience when I go there!! Whatever, I wish that lady the best of luck and hope, someday, she will understand what a amazing occurence that pregnancy is.

It's hard enough to see pg women on the street, but to hear negative comments about something they we are all wishing for is agonizing. And don't get me started about seeing obviously pg women who smoke!

That is my absolute pet hate. I generally look at pregnant women and smile but I have to look away because I can't believe they could knowingly do that to their baby with increasing risk of m/c, low birthweight, SIDS etc.

Liz I'm sorry you had to hear that. I know people have said that we don't know the circumstances and that is very true, but if she only knew why YOU were there....
