Ladies I need your help.
I have been barely spotting for the last three days.. I mean it looks like old bearly thier spotting. I only bleed for two days.. and not very heavy on the two days that I did bleed.
I am concerned that I may need a d/c... I took an HPT and it is blaring +. I have NO pregnancy symptoms. The last time we bd.. was Wed the 26th of Aug. (The day I got my original BFP) So even if I O'd twice I would be 17dpo.. (which is highly unlikely) And again NO, NONE, NOTHING in the way of pregnancy symptoms. Has anyone who had a natural m/c go through anything like this????
*UPDATE* For the New people.. my first m/c was a chemical and I had a - with in days, My second was a d/e and I never tested, (didn't even to think to take a HPT) and this is my first Natural.. I am just concerned for how low my HCG was.. it was only 93 last friday.. at 4 wks 4 days.... With levels that low.. you would think I would be a zero??

Hi Kary,
Back in October of last year when I had my early m/c I only bled for 3 days and it wasn't very heavy either. I took a FRER and it showed positive about 3 weeks after then AF showed about 1 week after that. My D&C showed positive FRER's about a week and a half after and AF showed up about 4 weeks after that.
I know that everyone is different, and I hope that you don't end up having to go through the surgery now.

I did Kary......I was still getting positive test's for weeks after my M/C. They kept telling me to wait it out, that it just wasn't complete yet. After about 3 weeks, they finally started talking D&C (which freaked me out), so first they gave me a dose of misopropal, which caused the heavy bleeding to come back and the cramping....but it got rid of the retained tissue. 3 days later I had an ultrasound that showed everything was clear and I got a negative HPT....then I stopped bleeding about 5 days after taking the miso. It definitely kept me from having to have a d&c!

I dunno what to say... I know that it can linger as your levels are dropping. I was getting positives with our first most recent that I had lost on a wednesday I tested that saturday a few days later it was -. Our 2nd most recent loss had tested positive for 5 days during, but the last one was so faint, my hcg pretty much zeroed out.
I wouldn't hesitate to call first thing monday morning or even call to see if they could contact your doctor thru their answering service to have him get in touch with you as to what to do.
I don't want to throw all sorts of things out there. I'm sorry I'm not much help

I thought I had miscarried at the beginning of Aug and so I didn't do anything. Well when I went to my OB for a consultation he did blood work and my numbers were still rising, and it turned out my pregnancy was eptopic. So please do call your Dr especially if your bleeding was light. Not to scare you but atleast you can get answers and they can do blood to see if it is going up or down.. Hang in there hun.

Hugs Kary...
After my second D&C, I was still getting a positive test for two weeks after. I'm three weeks into bleeding from this one (heavily)... and I'm still testing positive.
I am utterly frusterated, as I'm sure you are. I hope you do not need a D&C... hopefully the Dr. can do an ultrasound to see if there's anything going on. I had one done on me a week and a half ago, and there was nothing in my uterus, so I know I won't need one.. it's just taking a long time for my levels to go down. HUGS!

Kary - I am very surpised that your Dr. is not following your levels. I had a D&C and 6 days after my levels were at 179. I have my next level for Tues.
My Sister just had a natural M/C and her Dr. told her it would take at least 2 weeks to not get a + on hpt. They told her if she still got a + after 3 weeks to call back.
Hope it helps you some.
Kat.

My 2nd m/c started with brown barely there spotting. That lasted for 10 days. Bleeding picked up and turned into heavy bleeding and passing clots/tissue. I had stopped bleeding for 4 days and then started back with heavy bleeding, clots and back pain. Bleed for 3 days that time, and now have stopped. My HCG levels as of Sept 3 were 0
would call the Dr though and let them now whats going on. I was calling me Dr office everyday to let them know what was going on or they would be calling me with my betas.

Ya Kary, I would definitly call your doc... their office has to have some sort of answering service that can get into touch with him, then have him call you.
It could be retained tissue, it could be a number of things! I'm sorta wondering why they didn't follow your beta's a bit more... like til they were pretty much zero or lower than 20. It wouldn't hurt to go to your local ER or urgent care to get bloodwork drawn and go over what you're expierencing now instead of waiting. Then they can do all the tests, u/s maybe to check everything out... sometimes it's not worth waiting and risking your health if something isn't quiet right. kwim?

With mine the levels were pretty much 0 right away. I would ask for an u/s and another beta, just to make sure the levels are indeed going down and that there isn't anything going on inside. I hate the fact that this is being dragged out for you ....hope you won't need a d&c.

my levels were back to within 5 days I think and I bled for a week straight. I didn't test often, maybe until about Wednesday when my bleeding had started Sunday.

Hmmm... I don't know Kary. I would make sure that you call your doctor and have your levels checked. My first m/c was before 6 weeks and my levels took forever to drop. They dropped really quick in the first couple weeks of blood draws... but then they slowed down. I can't remember exactly, but I think one week they were like in the 90's, the next week in the 70's, the next week in the 30's!! I remember thinking that it was ridiculous how slow they were dropping. My second miscarriage was before 5 weeks. I was having my Hcg levels monitored weekly and they were dropping... but then they started to go back up. A couple of u/s later it turned out that some retained tissue was going crazy somewhere in my system and I had to get a shot of methotrexate to kill any pregnancy tissue that was left behind. So I guess it could be a few things... you could have O'd and gotten pregnant again, you could have some retained tissue, or your levels could just be taking their good old time to return to normal.
I would definitely talk to your doctor to see what is going on.

With my first one I didn't take tests to see but with my second one they were negative by the third day after the bleeding started. Everyone is different but I don't think it would hurt to call your doctor and make sure the levels have continued to drop. I have heard it can take a very long time to get back to zero in a natural miscarriage.

I will wait untill Monday to call the dr... UNLESS I start to have pain. I am 100% pain free. I have no cramps, or anything...
Thank you for the concern. I will update if anything else changes... I love you ladies! XOXOXO

Kary - I never tested again after my loss was Dx. I never thought to. I'm reading a book right now about miscarriage and it says that it can take 4 - 6 weeks for the HCG to get out of your system. I hope that things progress for you so you can put this behind you.

I had D&Cs with both my m/c and had no bleeding just a tiny bit of spotting after for both. I had a - hpt within 8-10 days with the first and maybe a week or so with the second. I think my Dr. did a really good job because I hear so many stories of girls bleeding for weeks. I chose the D&Cs because I heard your body recovers faster and it did for me. I got AF with 30 days both times. Everyone is different and some prefer to m/c naturally but it can take longer so I wouldnt worry unless you still are getting + tests after a month or so. I would still call your Dr. just for some advice and maybe and ultrasound.
