to m/c naturally. I went and got blood work drawn.. ok here is the numbers..
Aug 28th 31
Aug 31st 91
Sept 4th 93
Sept 14th 56
So as you can see they are not going down very quickly when I was so low to begin with. I will go back next week for blood. And if they have not dropped by ALOT... I will be scheduled for yet another d/c.... WTH? Why can't my body just do one thing right for me? It has let me down so many times over the last 11 months... Just one more thing to hate it for.
** UPDATE** Just got off the phone with my Dr. They do not give medication (unless it is etopic), they either want your body to do it naturaly (with in reason) or to have the D/C.... I give up.

Kary, I am so sorry for you. I know I have only been with this group a short time, but my heart just goes out to you. You are so strong - I don't know that I could keep going the way you do.
Hugs to you.
Kat.

Oh Kary....I hope that your levels go down quick so you won't need the d&c. What about taking the meds the dr. gave me (I can't remember what it was called now) to make your uterus contract and expell anything that is left over. That might be an alternative to surgery to get your levels to drop. HUGS!!!!

Kary I am so sorry. Like you haven't been through enough. I hurt for you. Are there any drugs they can give you so you don't have to go through the surgery again? I honestly wish I could make this all better for you.

Kary I hate that this is dragging on for you. There must be an alternative to try before the D&E though. I would question your doctor!

Kary I feel for you sweetie, it's frustrating as HELL that it's doing it slowly... my miscarriage in July dragged forever. My levels dropped fast initially, but it took 2wks3ds total to be zeroed out and then I O'd.
So that is probably why you have some symptoms still as irritating as it is. To be totally honest with you, I was very hurt that I was still having symptoms after going thru all that. It's hard to deal with when you know what's going on, but trust your body... it will get back to where it needs to be and it isn't going to intentionally work against you beautiful lady! (but I know you know that )
Ya, I'm surprised they didn't give you cytotec or something before talking about a D&C. You can take a dang laxitive stimulating your bowels and that will work much the same way...

Kary, I agree with pp's about the drug alternative. Im so sorry they have not zeroed out yet, just does not make sense. Please ask your dr. about this now, as you may not have to wait the week and maybe start it today. Im thinking about you.

I'm sorry for saying this in advance if you like your doctor... but I would consider another doctor's opinion. A D&C / D&E can be harsh on your body by what I've been told by ob's office. So repeating it could potentially do more harm than good, geesh!
(a part of my post DISAPPEARED!)
so I've been told between both doc's offices.... It's different for every lady who miscarries naturally and there's no set time, but that monitoring is good to be done to make sure things are progressing within reason. As long as your numbers are dropping then you should be ok... if they weren't or they were rising then that would be a super duper concern right?

Kary, how many d&c's have you had? My dr. did tell me with my last one, that since that made d&c #5 for me, I was at a huge risk for future delivery's. (placenta getting stuck in the uterine wall). I would ask about alternitive methods with your dr. (at home remody's) to jump start this. What about the medication they give women to jump start their periods when they are late? God, I would hate to see you have to have an unneccesary surgery.

Kary my heart is breaking for you, that the process has to be so difficult. I can't believe he wont let you use medication.
And reading this thread is just another reminder that we all know way too much about the process of miscarrying.

That is stupid!!!!!!!
Funny how my dr. won't do a d&c unless absolutely necessary. Just a thought.....what about going on birth control pill for a couple of weeks and then stopping so that AF is forced to come. Maybe that will help to expell any retained tissue and get your hcg down to 0 quickly. It might work. I really don't want you to go through anymore surgeries.
