They are going to run the following tests on me...

1. TSH levels... I think to check my thryoid.

2. Prolactin... which I read is somehow related to Progesterone and a luteal phase defect. I read something about how if levels are too high when you are not pregnant than your body may not produce enough progesterone when you are pregnant.

3. ANA- To check for an Autoimmune disorder??

4. Anticardiolipins- Another autoimmune problem???

The last two tests were also done after my first 2 miscarriages so I am not sure that they will turn up anything.

Are there any other tests I should ask for if these come back fine??? I called my insurance company today and apparently they will pay for Reproductive Endocrinologist visits and any testing to determine the cause of the miscarriages at 100%!! I didn't know this. I think our insurance is pretty good because they will also pay for up to 5 rounds of Artificial Insemination... not that we are at that point yet. I was just surprised that they do that!!! So I want to take advantage of our insurance and use it to figure out what is going on!!!

I don't know the name of the test but I would ask if they can test you for a blood clotting disorder and a mutation disorder.

That is great they are trying to find out what is going on. And even a better bonus that your insurance will cover all of that. I hope they find out what is going on soon so you can have a beautiful baby to hold.

Tha't great. Definately take advantage of your insurance paying for it.

I found this list of tests that are being done for infertility and recurring m/c. I think my dr. ran most of these for me last cycle. Good luck!!!

Day 3 FSH testing
Luteinizing hormone (LH) testing
Progesterone testing
Estradiol Level testing
Hysterosalpingogram
For women who are suspected of having low ovarian reserves, a Day 3 Inhibin and a Clomiphene Challenge test may be performed.

Other tests that may be a part of your fertility workup may include:

ACA testing
ANA screening
AMH Testing
AOA testing
APA testing
Anti-Thyrpglobulin testing
Chromosome analysis
Lupus Anticoagulent testing
Leukocyte Antibody Detection
Immunological testing
Post-Coital Testing

I am still just getting into the mumbo jumbo of testing, I just posted all the tests my Dr ran yesterday. Not that I have any answers.. I will be also going to my primary... And since my insurance is through the Hosital.. My OBGYN will have accsess to those labs too.. If he won't order Tyroid.. I know my primary will. I wish I could say more... But Trish posted a great list!!! Good Luck

Thanks ladies for the lists of tests!!! I didn't realize there were sooo many that they could run. I guess I will see what happens with the ones the doctor ordered and then ask him about others if they don't find anything!!
