I went to work last night and looked up my tests results.. Well first off they are all send out tests so NONE are back, I called down to lab to find out when they might be back, and some of thoses tests... are send outs.. from the send out lab! So some of these tests will be a few days-weeks to find out. I used to draw blood while in Nursing school and I have never heard of some of these tests. I know they are for clotting. I will also be going to my primary doctor next Friday... and will have him draw the T4, T3, TSH and Free T4. So here is he list of tests:
Heparin Neutralization
Thrombin Time
Reptilase-R Time
Plt Neutralization
Lupus Anticoag PT
Lupus Anticoag PTT
LA PTT Mix/Correction
dRVVT Mix
dRVVT Baseline
dRVVT Confirm Ratio
Hex Phospholip Neutrl
Lupus Anticoag Interp
ANA Screen
Anti-Cardiolpin IgG Ab
Anti-Cardiolipin IgA Ab
Anti-Cardiolipin IgM Ab
MTHFR A1298C Mutation
MTHFR C677T Mutation
MTHFR Interpretation
Chromosome Analysis
And my HCG level was 59.6 ( thought it was lower.. but O well)
I will be heading into work tomorrow night, So I will print out my results and "peek". I will be heading back for blood work on Monday to check my HCG levels... And than decide what the next step will be.. the D/C or try to miscarry naturally. Here is were my thought is... If you look back at my FF, It 35 days after my first d/e for af to show up (the March cycle), it than took almost 5 cycles to get back on my 28 day "normal" cycle.
My question is what would you do? If you have a natural m/c did it take 5 months or shorter for you to get back to normal. (I got pregnant on the 2nd cycle after my chemical in Nov) I just don't want to screw up my system for that long again.... D/C or wait it out? Would you have chossen you D/C again?

Oh man that is a lot of tests. I hope they find out something. I don't really have any advice for what you should do. We had a D/C but I was further along and we had lost the baby two weeks before. So not sure how to help. I do hope that whatever you choose works quickly and you get better fast. Sending you many healing vibes and of course.

Hot dam.n! They're gonna draw for all that at once? I hope they don't need to go crazy and draw 12 vials or something

That is a lot of tests!! Thanks for sharing the list... I might be asking my OB about them!!
I can't help with the D&C because all my miscarriages were natural. Though I wish I would have had one last time because I took methergine and it made me feel awful!! Plus, my body takes forever to get back to normal after a miscarriage and I have wondered if it would be different with a D&C.

Kary, if it were me, I would wait it out. I think d&c's are too hard on the body, unless it is a missed miscarriage at a later point in the pregnany or something that is causing you a lot of bleeding/pain, than waiting it out is better for your future cycles. I did too get my first AF very soon after the d&c, but still it took months to get back to normal again, like you. Just IMO.

I agree with Lori that I would wait it out at least a bit longer. I think you will find that your body will resolve itself. It took be about 2 cycles to get my cycles back to the 29-29 days they usually are (and then 2 more cycles to get pg). I don't remember testing afte rmy first pregnancy but it could have taken a while to have my numbers lower (remember way back to about 3-4 weeks after my miscarriage I had what I shrugged off as an evap but could have still been a positive test). I would wait it out and see what happens.

Wow Kary....that is a pretty thorough list!! I have only heard of the last 5!
I can't help you, other then telling you I m/c naturally and when I got all the "issues" cleared up with it, I had a perfectly normal cycle afterward. We waited that cycle and then got PG again with this baby on the next one. I would wait it out...I just can't believe he wants you to do a d&c again, especially with how early you found out.

I don't know what to tell you other than my experience: I had a d&c and it was my choice. I was 11 1/2 weeks but it was a missed m/c with the baby sizing at around 6 1/2 weeks, but the Dr's would have definitely let me continue with a natural m/c if I had wanted that. Anyway, my hcg levels were down to 0 within 2 weeks. I consider my m/c starting the day I started to bleed (2 days before my d/c) - I O'd on cd 15 and AF showed up on cd27. I had no problems after the procedure and everything has been back to normal. I would absolutely have one again if I needed to - I was so thankful that everything was just done and over with and I wasn't sitting around waiting and wondering.

Kary, I'm glad the dr. is doing all these tests for you. Sounds like the type of tests my dr. ran......Yeah I remember the 12 vials of blood + 3 more at a different lab that had to be done outside (those were the Lupus ones). Crazy isn't it??!! Hey at least you can take a peek at the results
IDK what to tell ya about the d&c...if it were me I wouldn't do it, but I know how frustrating waiting around can be. I hope your levels drop quickly.

Hey sweetie!
That is terrific that he is testing so thouroughly!!! I've never even heard of the majority of those tests, but I do think that some of it is the labs "readings & findings" of certain results. I have found some of that stuff of bloodwork too when I "peeked" on the paperwork print out from the labs sent out.
I would just wait it out, let your body take care of things naturally because it will allow your body to "get back to normal" quicker. I mean, I had 2 miscarriages back to back with no D&C / D&E staying within a few days of my normal cycle.
I know the "waiting it out" is annoying and you just want it to be over, but it's always better to allow your body to heal itself if possible. I've been told by 2 different doctor's offices that the surgery is harsh on your uterus and can lessen your conception chances for a while until it builds up and sheds the lining until it is "even" throughout. HOWEVER, it's obviously not horrid... they do the procedure. I'm a little taken back that your doctor is so quick to do it tho instead of other less invasive ways knowing that you've been TTC for a while now.
Please take what I say with a grain of salt and an opinion... it's different for each of us.

Hi Kary,
Wow, I hope you get some answers from those tests!
For me it was the opposite. My first loss was a natural m/c and my right tube got blocked and it took over 16 months of ttc and then I had an op and they found that was the reason. I had a D&C with my 2nd loss as it was a missed m/c but I would have opted for one just to make sure my tubes were clear. For me the D&C seemed to bring everything back to normal as the 2nd cycle after my D&C I had my first proper AF in 2 years (since my first loss). Then I got my BFP the next cycle.
Everyone is different though and if you feel the D&C mucked your cycles around too much then you should wait it out (if it isn't too emotionally painful). For me, I think I would always opt for a D&C but I sure hope I never need one again!
Best of luck

Wow Kary... I'm jealous you get to sneak early peaks at all those tests! hehe. I'm glad they're doing something!
On a side note, personally, I am so glad I didn't have to put my body through the trauma of a third d&c this year. If I were you, I'd probably try to wait it out at least one more week if not two. This time, it took three weeks for my levels to drop to almost zero. HUGS! I'm hoping your body does it for you!

I had a boat load of test done as well and also an HSG. I think they took in all about 10 vials of blood. All came back normal for me, i hope its the same for you as well. As for waiting it out or choosing a D&C, i've done it both ways and if i had to choose again i would go with the D&C, i feel like it cleans your uterus out. I think my issue was fibroids and i hadn't been able to have the test done for that yet and once i had my D&C in Jan, i was pregnant again by March with this baby. I really think having the D&C just cleaned me all out and was able to build up healthier uterine lining. Thats just my opinion though.

i decided to m/c naturally cause it's natural. but it did take me about 4 to 5 cycles to get back to normal (but i was 12 weeks along). i have heard stories of scar tissue developing from d&c's. I had one d&c with my first loss and then decided to let my body do it naturally the second one. i was worried about multiple d&c's. i wasn't worried when i had my first one...
hugs to you girl!!! i know the process is mentally draining!!!

I didn't have a choice. I m/c naturally literally an hour before my consultation with the pregnancy loss clinic. I was an awful experience, but I think that it helped me by bringing closure. My cycle length was still 28 - 29 days. The only difference after the loss is that I had more cramping during AF for the first few months.
