I am not really sure what purpose it serves ( I use OPKs), other than more to obsess about. But my Dr asked me to start charting, so I am... Any tips?

i LOVE charting! lol. i use fertilityfriend.com (free option). i learned tons about my cycle through charting. you'll be able to tell exactly when you o and how long your luteal phase is.

good luck! there's a fertility charting board on jm, too!

I use fertilityfriend.com also. I just use the free option. Like the pp said, it has helped me learn a lot about my cycles.

i agree with the above ladies. its a little bit of a pain, but it is really the ONLY way to confirm when you've ovulated. OPKs and other signs can be wrong. Temping will tell you that it definitely did happen, and how long your LP is.. which can be an indication if anything is wrong that requires further investigation.I use FF too.. I used to just chart on my own on paper, but its easier to keep my data in a chart online. I don't use any of the extra options since I'm able to read the chart myself. It's not too hard to do. Let us know if you need help!

I agree with the other ladies. However after my last m/c I was obsessing too much and I stopped for awhile. But you really do learn alot about your cycle

I agree with what everyone else has said. I use Fertility Friend (I pay for the VIP membership because I like all the extras, but it's not necessary) and I love it. You learn so much about your body and for me it really helps to see my chart - having that visual helps me have a grasp of something that I have no control over. And temping is really the only way to know for certain that you ovulated.

I also agree with everyone else. Any tips? Yeah, give yourself a whole cycle to get used to it. When I first started I wondered if I was doing it right and freaked out over it. I really enjoy seeing what my body is doing and it actually made me not obsess so much. It's great for people that like to feel like they are in control. Be grateful that your doctor suggested such a thing, mine gave me a side-eye when I said I was charting.

Oh, and I also use FF, the freebie version.

I kind of chart, but my temps are never 100% accurate. Sometimes I forget and sometimes I have to jump out of bed to go to my 2 year old and have to take my temp afterwards. But other than that, once you get used to taking your temp at the same time each morning it's kind of fun. I actually broke down and purchased 3 months of the VIP membership on FF, cause I was sick and tired of not being able to access certain features on there.
