I was just curious how long you girls waited before trying to conceive again after your miscarriage/s. I've been passing a lot of tissue since Sunday so I'm pretty sure I shouldn't need to get a D and C or anything. Should be natural. Can we start trying right away after this is over? Or is there a period of time we should wait before trying again? DH hates condoms and I hate birthcontrol(makes me crazy) lol. So I was just curious. I will probably start charting again, I just need some opinion on the pros and cons of waiting.

I've had 3 natural m/c's. The first one was 10 years ago and I didn't even have an AF and I was pg again. I went on to have a healthy baby boy. I had an mc in March and we started right away, but didn't get pg for 7 months. I plan to start as soon as my bleeding stops. My dr said that for emotional reasons I may want to wait. Now, I believe that if you have a d&c then you are advised to wait because they have to scrape your ute lining.

This has been my experience, but if your doctor thinks you need to wait for medical reasons then I would listen to your doc.

I'm so sorry for your loss! I lurked on AIP for a while and followed you and a couple other people. Lot's of t&p's!! Hope you have a short stay here!

Thanks for the advice! I still haven't heard from my doctor on any of my blood tests yet. So I guess we will see what she says. Hopefully everything is normal as far as miscarriage goes. I'm just glad I haven't gone through as much pain as some girls do. I mean I cramped BAD on Sunday but other than that its been like AF cramps. But maybe I'm just used to it. My AF is really bad as far as cramps go. It probably helps that I gave up caffeine when I got pregnant because I know caffeine can make things worse.
Hopefully the doctor gives us the thumbs up for going ahead and trying right away. One of my brothers friend had to wait a year after her miscarriage to try again. But I think she was in her second trimester.

Yeah, I really didn't have bad bad cramps, but it felt like my cervix was swollen and it hurt to go to the bathroom. My m/c this time was a lot worse than the one I had in March as far as passing tissue is concerned. This time I had a lot of tissue and clotting.

There are some miscarriages (like molar pregnancy) that you have to wait a long time (6 mnths +) before you can try again. I'm just glad that mine happened early on and I've been able to pass everything with no trouble. It sounds like yours is doing the same thing. I hope you have good luck in the future!

I had answered a topic on this a few minutes ago... you should give yourself a couple of weeks because of the risk of infection, possibly a month until the first AF shows so the lining of your uterus can build up. I have read and posted here and article saying there is no medical reason to wait other than a couple of weeks because of infection. It's mostly emotional reasons & grief.

It's not a bad thing to wait a couple weeks to a month before TTC, but if you were to become pregnant before then it wouldn't be the end of the world either. If your body cannot handle it, it won't get pg or hold the pregnancy. That's the one thing my new doc said is that I may get pg, but because of the lining needing to sloff off and build up it may not hold a pregnancy (implant well)

Have you talked to your OB about this yet? What did they suggest?
