I have been spotting since early yesterday morning. It's brown mostly, a bit stringy (TMI sorry) maybe a little gray but definitely not red. I have no cramping. There are no clots. The bleeding is not heavy, in fact it's not even on my undies, just when I wipe. I kind of have to look for it in fact. It went away once I went to bed, and came back a little while running errands and going to work. I had pretty vigorous sex Monday, when I spoke to the OB nurse yesterday she thought that was the source. My morning sickness was pretty mild and has mostly disappeared as of last week, but I still have plenty of other symptoms. I am still having BFPs on a digi. I am also on baby aspirin, maybe that is contributing. I am on progesterone already. I am waiting on another call from my doctor, but I'm a bit frantic, so I'm reaching out to you guys.
Does this sound like a miscarriage at all?
Please tell me I am just freaking out over nothing. That's what my family thinks. I really want them to be right. I have an ultrasound Tuesday, I'll be 6 weeks 4 days at that point. I've never had a miscarriage before and after losing Ethan, I don't know if I can lose this baby too.

You are not freaking out for nothing. You fears are founded in your previous experience and you are scared because you have already lost one little one. So you are not freaking out over nothing.
However, I think your spotting is going to go away. It could be attributed to the sex monday (which is why its brown - old blood) and it also could still be some implantation blood finally making its way out (again brown is old blood). If there is no cramping and no red blood you are probably ok. If it picks up and/or turns red I would check with your doctor. But until then just try and stay positive (as hard as that is right now). I have heard many stories of women whose cervix's bleed when aggravated during pregnancy (sex, internal ultrasound, too much excertion, etc) but it has nothing to do with the pregnancy.
hang in there!

Ditto to Michelle... Also I want to let you know with my second pregancy I had bight red spotting and my pregnancy was ok (at that point).... (My second loss was from a chromosomal issue.. ) So I really think you are ok... it could of been from the sex, it also can be from a "TMI" BM (since you may be contispated).......... anything that can irriatate the cervix...

That's a good point, lordy am I constipated and having a tough time. I wish cervixes were less fragile.
Last time I spotted during pregnancy was what triggered the ultrasound that identified that Ethan was really sick. So naturally I am pretty scared right now. They never did figure out why I was spotting with Ethan.

Rebecca no it doesn't, but I wouldn't hesitate to call your doctor's office and see if they can squeeze you in today. Any sort of bleeding is something they want to know, even tho it's more than likely from the romping it NEVER hurts to get it checked into. Express your fears and concerns... and don't hesitate if things change to go to the ER. I understand that the nurse "thinks" sex is what it is from, but tell them you want to be seen anyways. It could aleviate the worry entirely if they check it out
KUP Rebecca to you honey!

Okay, I talked to the doctor (again, I called yesterday too). He really does not think it is a miscarriage. He was really understanding of how freaked out I am, but said there is nothing to be freaked out about. He said I'll keep spotting until all the old blood has finished passing and not to worry about it, he thinks it was the "enthusiastic" sex I had Monday that caused all the trouble.
God bless you guys for your input, I trust my doctors but it is really helpful to hear from my "ground troops" too, so to speak
My OB nurse is awesome, she calmed me down too, and she told me to ask for her at my u/s Tuesday because she wants to stop in and say hi to my little bean
I wish they could just install a window into my belly so I could check up on Squirt!

when i was about 9 wks pg w/ ds, i had spotting every day for a week. it was enough to need a pantyliner. it wasn't red and i had no cramping, but i called the dr. anyway. they said it sounded like old blood. it went away on its own and i had no more after that point. i think it's fairly normal for your body to expel old blood. and as the other girls have said, sex can do it, too.
hang in there and keep us posted!

Ditto to what everyone else has said - as long as there is no cramping and it's not bright red it is probably ok...but keep your doctors posted if any changes and let us know how the US goes!

Sticky dust to you Rebecca. I would not worry to much. Stress is bad too. I spotted red in all my pregnancies and two made it full term. The third was not from spotting. Please know that some spotting is totally normal while your body adjusts. Lots of hugs and thought and prayers for you guys.

I had bright red bleeding with both my girls, and they ended up being born perfectly healthy. I had a batch of brown and light pink spotting this pregnancy and they told me if could have been from putting my progesterone up there so many times a day and it irritated my cervix.
