Hey everyone,
My husband and I really want to start trying again for a baby. Has anyone tried two weeks after having a DnC? I have been feeling fine and I am just afraid I am rushing it. My body and mind feel ready for trying again, but I wanted to see how it went for other women. Let me know what you think
Thanks,
Amber

I wanted to welcome you to our forum. I don't think that I've done that yet. I didn't have a D&C, but we started to TTC right after AF showed.
I'm sorry for your loss.

Every one is different and every piece of advice is different. I think the best advice I can give is wait until your af is like a normal one. I have 2 afs before my next bfp the first was short and very very very light and the second was like my old, normal af's. I felt this was a sign my body had recovered and was ready.
Im glad you feel your going well, mentally and physically, I know i did my total snap when i got my first af, plus its hard to know when you do o, as my break was just over 6 weeks before my af started after the d&c. The longer your pg the longer the break normally.
Good luck, i hope its a very short wait!!

In April, my midwife said to wait 1 cycle and to go ahead after that. I would go with what your doctor is saying as he/she understands your specific situation. If you don't agree with your doctors decision then you should ask him/her about it.
I am sorry for your loss.

My m/c was induced by meds and we started trying about 1 1/2 weeks after. Unfortunately it took me about 3 cycles to get a bfp, which ened up in another m/c. So I have not had any luck so far. I hope that you are luckier than me and get that bfp quick!!!

Welcome and Im sorry for your recent loss. I had a d&c in April as well, my dr. recomended 3 cycles before starting to re-build my uterine lining. I waited for 2af's to come and go before I actually TTC. But after the first cycle is used the NTNP. Im a strong believer in "if your body is not ready to concieve, it wont". I just had a tubal pregnancy this month, and this was my first BFP since d&c. I also had one years ago for a m/c at 13wks and became pregnant within 5 cycles and that one resulted in my 3rd. son. I do believe it takes time for the uteris to re-build its lining to a normal thickness in order to substain a new pregnancy after a d&c. Good luck to you and let your dr. know which course you are taking, he may not recomend it, but at least he can supervise it.

I had a D&E in Feb of 2009, I got my first period in March and got pregnant after my cycle in June.
We tried after two months and I guess thats how it took my body to get back to normal.
Good Luck Hun!

I just had a d&c on Aug. 24th and DH and I decided to try before I got my 1st AF. I wasn't temping and never got a pos OPK even though I was taking them twice a day. Makes me wonder if I even O'd. But, AF showed up today. I did quite a bit of googling on it and it's definitely possible. I believe our bodies will get preg when they're ready. I wish you the best of luck!

I am sorry for your loss. I had a D&C back on the 21st of May and we started ttc straight away. My ob said my body wouldn't fall pg if it wasn't ready and he was right! Like Sal, I had 2 AF's before getting my BFP, the first AF was painful but lighter but the 2nd AF was like my normal period which I hadn't had since my first loss nearly 2 years ago. I felt better when I got this BFP as I felt my body was finally back to normal.
It is definitely possible, best of luck!

My husband and I are at the same place you are at. I had a m/c and D&C 4 weeks ago and we've been not preventing/ttc for the last 2 weeks. I am pretty sure I O'd 2 weeks after the D&C. I bought a 3-pack of tests and took one a couple days ago, not really thinking i was pregnant. It was negative so I know if I get a positive, it's not just left over hormones from the m/c. Still no sign of AF. My doc said that I am emotionally ready, then we could go ahead and when my body is ready, we'll get pregnant again. She also said that there isn't any research out there that says that you are at more risk of m/c if you get pregnant too soon, but every doc is a little different in what they recommend. The 3 months are to help date the pregnancy and b/c women tend to grieve the hardest the first 3 months, so doc said. Good luck and keep us posted!

I had a D and C back in may and was told I can start trying straight away because I won't get pregnant until my body is ready for that to happen, so far it has been all BFN's but I am not letting that get me down, its just not time yet. And when it does happen I want to be ready for it. Good luck hun
