As you know I had my 5th loss last week. My levels on Monday were in the 30's on Wednesday they fell to 16 and on Thursday I started bleeding. Been through this before, so it was no surprise it was a like a heavy painful period. The weird thing is it only lasted 3 days this time. The other 2 similar losses lasted much longer. Is this normal?

Mine only lasted 3 days. I miscarried at around 4 or 5 weeks even though I was supposed to be 7 weeks. I think it's pretty normal. If you have a feeling something is wrong, go to the doctor though. It's possible to bleed some but still have retained tissue. My doctor checked my cervix when I went in and he said it was closed and I had finished up even though it was so short. It might be a similar story for you.

If you are concerned I would get checked by the doctor. Have an ultrasound just to make sure your not retaining tissue.

Hello there MomtoNJI,

Just like each pregnancy is different so is each miscarriage... it could also depend on the length of time you carried too, that can really change the amount of bleeding, clots, tissue and days of it. I know the further along I am things are longer and much different than the lesser time of carrying my babes.

I hope that this helps! However, I wouldn't hesitate to contact at least the nurses triage for your OB/GYN office... if you're having pain, fever, smelly and strange colored discharge that could mean an infection! Not to mention don't hesitate to ask them ANY QUESTIONS, no question is a dumb question if that makes sense kind of a dual meaning

I'm glad to see that you're here & KUP!

I had a chemical in February and it was much like that. I got a BFP for a few days, it went back to negative and then I started bleeding the next day. It was a really light and short period. I O'd 13 days later and got pregnant with this one!

It's hard to say. It could be totally normal this time around, or it could be retained tissue. I'm sorry I can't remember how far along you were. But maybe it would be a good idea to have an u/s. HUGS!
