...and he told me I can start walking!!! It's been almost 7 weeks with my broken foot and I'm so frustrated and tired of being on crutches that I just want to use them to randomly beat people I see walking. How dare they taunt me by skipping down the sidewalk! But all is well because I can stop using them now and just WALK! Of course, me walking with this giant boot on is pretty amusing to say the least...it's more like a limpy hobble, but in a week or so I can ditch the boot too. YAY!
Of course the day didn't go perfectly smooth...the doc sent me over to the hospital ASAP to get a venous doppler utlrasound because he thought I might have a blood clot in my leg (my foot is cold-ish and red and swollen still). So it was a pretty stressful wait with a potential hospital stay and clot dissolving meds looming over us...and with those meds, baby making would have been out for this month. But the test was negative, thank goodness, and my blood flow is fine. DH was with me and was so obviously, visibly stressed the whole time in the ultrasound room. When we left I asked him what was wrong and he said that the last time he sat by while I was getting an ultrasound was the day we found out we had no heartbeat. And then the next day was the ER with the m/c and d&c. He has a bit of a phobia about me and hospitals now, I'm afraid. Poor guy, he was so upset.
