I'm going to have one this month after my period is done. I'm a little nervous & anxious to find out what could have caused my ectopic pregnancy last march. I'm just wondering if anyone's had this done & if so, what the outcome was?

I have never had one but I wish you lots of luck and answers. I know going in for any procedure is a bit stressful.

I was supposed to have one. I even got to the office and got undressed when they told me I couldn't do it since I am allergic to iodine...

i had it done as part of recurrent m/c testing. My outcome was that there were no issues there with my tubes which was great

I took 2 panadol (I think you can take panadeine.. but im allergic to codiene - but obviously best to check with your care provider) and 2 nurofen an hour before the procedure to help with pain from cramping. I was lucky and didn't have any but they told me that most women get some cramping during and after the procedure. I had a bit after, but nothing bad.

Very best of luck with it! I wish you all the best!

I had one done and I would recommend taking something like one of the ladies said above. I didn't take anything and it did not feel very good. I don't want to scare you... the pain happens quickly and is over pretty quick, but there is nothing wrong with being prepared!!

I was told that one of my tubes spilled slower than the other but they both were fine. I never had an ectopic. They wanted to check the structure of my uterus.

Good luck!! Though it hurt... I would do it again if it meant helping me figure out what was going on and help me get a baby!!

Yep, I've had one & for me everything looked GREAT. You know I've heard that you are a little more fertile for the next few cycles right after an HSG! GL!

I have my first appt with the fertility clinic in a few weeks. I'm sure that an HSG will be one of the test that they will run.

I had one but I also had mild endo removed at the same time so I was completely under and didn't feel a thing. They did find some blockages in my right tube which was caused by my first loss which is why we hadn't conceived again in over 12 months. Once they fixed that I was right to go.

Best of luck!
