Hi everyone, I just recently had a miscarriage (10/5/09) and am looking for some advice! DH & I definitely want to try again ASAP to get pregnant. My doctor said the "recommended" thing is to wait until 1 cycle but that if it happens before then it wouldn't pose any risks so we don't want to wait until my next cycle to start trying! My question is, how the heck will i know when I'm ovulating this month?!!?? Thanks for any advice and good luck to you all.

Welcome to the board. I'm sorry for your loss but am glad you found us!. There is a good chance you will O once your hcg level zeros out. Whether you are getting follow-up betas or just taking a HPT, I would keep track of when your levels are down. I just kept taking HPTs until it was negative. I don't know if you chart your BBT or use OPKs, but I recommend both. I think that's the best way to determine if you actually O. Also, keep track of your CM...but keep in mind you can have fertile CM and still not ovulate. You may find that once your hcg level is down you will O immediately so it is possible to get pregnant right away before your first AF. Good luck!

Welcome, and Im so sorry for your loss. Usually once your levels hit 0 (or under 5) you may O within two weeks. Take a look at my chart from this cycle, this is also just post-m/c. As you can see I started using my opks right away, not knowing if I would O on my usual cd12. I did end up O'ing on cd14, due to m/c messing up the cycle a little bit. But with an early loss, your body will hopefully cooperate and not get off track. Good luck!

I am sorry for your loss. Doctors recommend waiting at least one cycle so that if you conceive they can better assess when your due date will be. I always try immediately but have never been successful. I know a few women who have though...

and Hello!

I'm right there with all the girls with what has already been said. I'm sorry that you have recently suffered a loss and pray that you handle it well, grieve and heal without much pain. Give yourself time to also! Jumping right back into it might seem like "what will make you happy" but it might also throw you for a loop. Really consider your feelings there before you definitely TTC again.

As far as figuring out when you ovulate, some women don't before their first AF shows. So if you want to try to figure that out it might be a little hard... you can use OPK strips but those won't be conclusive until all the hcg is out of your system because hcg can give you false positive results from what I've heard and read. However, your dr should be following your beta hcg's down to zero anyways and from there you can track your LH surge to know within a time limit of ovulation.

Good luck!

Also, please take a moment to read over the TTCAL rules, thanks! Again WELCOME to TTCAL!!!

I'm sorry for your loss. Good luck ttc again and hopefully you'll catch that eggie right away. I would use OPKs to see when you get the LH surge. And watch for any EWCM.

I am very sorry for your loss. If you use OPKs that'd probably help you figure out if you will be Oing. I just started bleeding and probably will start temping again I guess. I haven't decided whether we will try or not this cycle.
