Hello ladies,
It has been a while since i've been around here. For those of you that don't know or remember me, i got my bfp in Feb '09 and miscarried at 6 weeks. I started trying soon after that and even though I was timing bd perfectly, I was not successful. Two months ago I purchased the OV watch. This month, my second cycle trying it, I got my bfp! I wanted to come back, not to share my bfp news but to share what I did differently this cycle (things i feel definitely helped me get the bfp).
For those of u not familiar with the OV watch, go to ovwatch.com. It's basically a watch you wear at night and it senses chemical changes in your sweat. It senses a chemical released 4 days before ovulation, so it gives you a great heads up and lets you know what your peak fertile days are. I decided to buy it because it seemed like the least stressful way to keep track of ovulation (i was sick of pee sticks and charting was just not for me!). I definitely feel that the OV watch helped tremendously. The watch itself is $99, and the sensors (u need a new one every month) are $40. Considering I only needed two sensors, I totally feel it was worth it!
The second thing I did was drink grapefruit juice. I remember reading that it can help thin out or increase cervical mucus. When I read this I realized that I hadn't noticed an abundant amount of cervical mucus in my past several cycles. I drank a glass a day and the difference was almost immediate.
The third thing I did, and I'm warning you ladies this is def TMI, I made sure that on my fertile days, we bd'ed right before I was going to sleep. Which means I did not get up after, until the next morning. It was a bit gross, but I feel this may have helped as well. I did not prop myself up btw, just stayed lying flat.
I hope all of you ladies get your bfp's very soon, and I am very sorry for those of you with recent losses. I hope that maybe some of these things can help some of you so that you can have your bfp's and sticky beans very very soon.

Thanks for sharing! I am curious if using the Ov watch changed the days you thought you were O'ing. Like do you think using it changed the days you were BDing?

Congratulations. I have heard good things about the OV watch before. I am glad it worked for you. I also tried grapefruit juice last cycle. I didn't really notice a difference for me, but I did get pregnant so who knows. I also used Preseed & Instead cups too and I think those did help.

Thanks ladies!
Starrsgirl- My cycles had been anywhere from 24-29 days, so before the OV watch I would start bd'ing really early in my cycle and tried to continue into day 17 or so. With the OV watch I didn't have to guess if my cycle would be shorter or longer this time around, and DH and I didn't get burned out with tons of bd'ing, it just made everything so much easier. There were times when I skipped certain days because it just didnt fit into our schedules or I was frankly tired of it or not in the mood. Also, I didn't have to worry about checking cm or using pee sticks or all the other things that I feel just add more stress to the process. All I did was wear the watch and glance at it in the morning. I bd'ed on all the days it said were my "fertile days" and on "ovulation day 1". According to the OV watch, the highest percentage of pregnancies occur from bd'ing in the four days before ovulation.

Oh, wow! Thanks so much for the useful information!
Can I ask a question about the grapefruit juice? When did you start drinking it... from CD 1 or "ovulation day 1" according to your ov watch?
BTW, a HUGE congrats on your pg!!!

Congrats on your BFP! One question, can you mix grapefruit juice with other juices or does that negate the effectiveness? Just because I hate the taste of it but if I could water it down a bit....maybe I would drink it more easily.

Congrats on your BFP!
It's funny that you mention the grapefruit juice... I remember drinking a lot of it (by coincidence) the cycle I got my BFP and it was the most CM I've ever had.
