Someone once told me that if you ovulate late then you are more prone to miscarriage... Is this true? I ovulated this cycle on CD19. Are my eggs deteriorating before they are fertilised?

Erica, I heard something along those lines, but if Im not mistaken its more about late implantation that is a higher risk for m/c. I think ovulating late, is ok. Its fertilizing the egg right as its deteriating that would be of bigger concern. Hope this helps.

It also has to do with your luteal phase.. as long as you have that "14" day (or about)... I have read you are ok.. since those people have those longer cycles.. very few people are those textbook 28 day/14 day O......

And I have alos hear what Lori wrote... But you know.. I have gotten BFP's on 9dpo.. and have gone on to m/c all three... so for me.. early implantaions, late implants... WTH?

I agree. I don't think ovulating late has any affect on m/c rates. I think implanting late maybe, but really there is no way for you to know whether you implanted late or not.

The only way to know for sure would be if you charted and knew exactly what day you o'd on. If you take a hpt at 12dpo and its negative until after 15dpo, that would be considered a late implantation. I had that once, did not get a bfp until I was a week late for af. I started bleeding within 48hrs. of getting that bfp, had my levels checked and they went from 12 to 10 in those 48hrs. Dr. called it a late implantation resulting in the egg not beeing strong enough for implantation anymore.

But like Kary said, I got my last two BFPs and 11dpo and 8dpo, both resulting in m/c. So wheather or not any of this holds true, you just can put to much weight into it.

I think with my first we implanted late because it took so long to get a positive test. And we did fine. There isn't anything that can change implantation I don't think. I think the only thing you can do is take supplements to change your LP. I hope you still get your BFP this month.
