I don't know what's going on lately. In high school and for several years after, my periods lasted about five days M-M-H-H-M. After bcp's, my periods were three to four days M-H-M-S. (I've been off bcp for two years now.) Lately, my periods are about a day long.

In August, I had a three day AF, but it was barely enough to be considered light...more like I spotted for three years.
In September, I spotted for a couple hours. Yes, that's it.
Now in October, I started four days early and it only lasted a day and a half. Again it was super-light. In fact, it really wasn't much more than spotting.

Any idea why the change? It's been 11 months (yesterday) since my last loss. I have had a blood test done, just in case, and it was negative.

Have you asked your doctor? I know that your cycles can change after pregnancy regardless of how they end. Mine have gotten shorter 3 days instead of 5 and now 28 days instead of 30. And I was 30 day cycle for years. Probably just body changes.

I might talk to your doctor as well. Are you charting at all? If not I might chart a cycle or two to make sure you are ovulating regularly.

I agree that you might not be ovulating and also your body may not be sending the right hormone signals at the right time. Do you do OPKs? Do you have O signs? Is your bleeding "on time" or are your cycles always different lengths?

Sounds like maybe you are having anovulatory cycles. Just like when you take bcp without a break for a few months (I've done that where I would skip the sugar pills and start a new pack right away and after about 8 or 9 weeks I would get breakthrough bleeding). I would definately talk to your dr. about it. Maybe go on bcp for a month to kick start your hormones again. Or maybe your dr. can give you something else to start a proper AF. My problem is the opposite, seems like my AF has gotten longer since my m/c. Good luck!

I'm not charting at the moment. I do plan on speaking with a doctor, just waiting on the insurance card to come in the mail.

Liz, I really haven't been looking for O signs as this is our first official month of ttc. (We had been on a break leading up to the wedding.) The bleeding is always "on time" with the exception of this month which was four days early, making it a 31 day cycle instead of my normal 35 day cycle.
