My question is...I took a HPT 2 days ago and it was still positive. I had a m/c on Oct 5. When does my cycle start over again?? The day I m/c? Or when I get a neg. test...can I still get pregnant if I get a postive HPT? We arent not NOT trying I just was wondering so I can kinda get and idea. So should I wait until I get a neg. test to try? Im so sorry for your loss, and wanted to welcome you here even if your not quite trying yet. As for your new cycle, it would start on day 1 m/c, but you wont ovulate until the HCG is out of your system (0-5 hcg). Once you hit 0, you may ovulate within 2wks. Sometimes the first cycle after m/c will result in an anovulatory cycle though. Are you going back for blood draws or just testing out with hpts? I would test again in the am and see what happens. If its still +, you may want your dr. to follow you to make sure they go to 0. Good luck to you.

I think you have to wait until it reaches 0 to try because otherwise you won't actually get pregnant. Your body already thinks it is. I agree with Lori if you are still getting pos I would call the dr and get a blood test and see if the numbers are going down.

HUGS. I'm sorry for your loss. The ladies above are right, you're body won't ovulate until after your HCG hits 0 and you aren't getting + HPTs. I hope that happens for you soon!

Your body can not get pregnant until your body reaches under 5. You will not O until then. Hugs hun. Maybe you call your doctor and ask them to do some BT and see what your levels are.

Jessica, I'm so sorry for your loss. I too had a m/c on Oct. 5. My levels were at 5 on 10/12 so it seemed to leave my body pretty quickly. I too am trying to figure out when my cycle will begin again & when I'll ovulate - I hate this waiting game! Keep testing until you get a negative or ask your doctor to monitor your levels. it's very hard to chart a cycle after you miscarry. my cycle was weird. i started my cd1 when i passed the baby. but it was still a very weird cycle. As long as you still have a positive hpt, your body will not ovulate. it still considers itself to be pregnant. that is at least what my dr. told me. it took 6 weeks for my hpts to be negative after the m/c. i was however 12 weeks along. i'm so very sorry you are going through this - HUGS

I am right there with you. It's taken longer for the hcg to leave my system than I expected. Hopefully you don't have too much longer to wait. ((HUGS))
