My question is do you think restless sleep affects your BBT? And if so, just how much?

Here's the scenario...I know the importance of at least 3 hours sleep and taking your temp the same time every day and I almost always meet both of those conditions (and if I don't I discard the temps). Anyway, several nights over the last week I've been really restless. I guess because I know I'm restless that means I'm waking up...throwing off the covers because I'm hot...then piling them back on because I'm cold. It's not like I'm awake for any length of time and I don't get out of bed, but I've been tossing and turning a lot and it feels like it goes on all night long. And I've had several days where my temp has been lower than what I think it should be...just a sudden drop...and I *think* these drops correlate with my sleeping patterns, but I'm not sure. I know I woke up and was restless several times last night and my temp dropped again this morning.

I use FF so for all you FF users, do you think I should mark these temps as "sleep deprived" so it will be noted (marked as an open circle) that the temp may not be accurate? I always figured that lack of sleep would result in an increased temp not a lower one. I don't know...just something else to think about. I've never really had an issue with my temps until recently, my charts have always looked really good, and now it looks a bit erratic so I tend to (over)analyze why I don't have a lovely biphasic pattern. Grrrrr. Just one more thing to frustrate me!

Im not sure, I have been charting for 3 months now, and I when Ive had "sleep deprived" nights I mark them. But usually my sleep deprived nights are higher than usual. Unless its really bad where Im up "most" of the night, than its lower. If you see a pattern of lower temps with this, than I would think it is affecting your temps. As long as your not getting up or are not awake for very long, I would leave it as "closed circle". I have never gone without 3hrs of sleep though, but I have woke up 2hrs before normal and went back to sleep without getting up and used my normal time for FF.

Sorry, I dont think I helped, this is sorta still new for me too.

If you haven't gotten out of bed I'd leave your chart as is. Restless sleep hasn't seemed to effect my chart. Looking at your chart all and all I think it looks pretty good. A lot of people go up and down like that if that's what you are concerned about. Your temps are above your coverline and you got a good shift. You timed things well so hopefully you'll have a nice bfp soon! Good luck to you!
