I am 5w6d pregnant, my m/w put me on baby aspirin last Thursday (5w1d) - on Sunday (5w4d) I began spotting... Because of my history of m/c, I presumed that I was miscarrying (and still believe I am), but it hasn't really gotten *much* heavier, and I passed two clots last night, but since then I've pretty much just had some pinky/brown spotting... I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a connection between baby aspirin & spotting????? I guess i'm trying to grasp onto any little piece of hope I can......... I have an u/s @ 3.30 today, so I guess I don't really need to wait that much longer to find out what's happening....

Emma any updates?! How'd your u/s go??

Um, I know you're not suppose to take certain NSAID's but usually that's late in pg. As far as baby asprin, it's such a low dose and think it's used to "thin" your blood and prevent teeny clots.

Is it possible you were pg with twins and are loosing one?

Idk honey, not heard that baby asprin is linked to mc'ing... I'm sure you can Google it

i'm not sure if aspirin would cause that or not...Tylenol's all I'm allowed to use, but I know a lot of ladies are treated with baby aspirin where they have clotting disorders, so they might be able to tell you if they experienced spotting.

It's also possible that you're just having some spotting and nothing is wrong. I had some spotting (bright red) in early week of my pregnancy and it was unexplained but ok...I hope same is true for you...KUP on your appt! HUGS

thanks ladies...

My ultrasound is in 4 hours, I'll be sure to update when I get back.

One of the things I've been wondering is if I was pregnant with twins & have lost one - but i never had hcg levels taken, so it's hard to say - I guess they'd be able to tell on u/s.. I passed two clots last night & it seems weird that that was the only real 'bleeding' I had... normally with my m/c i start spotting, then bleeding heavily, then pass clots... rather than light spotting & then passing clots....

My dr. said that baby aspirin is "benign" meaning it will do no harm if you DONT have a clotting disorder. (it should'nt cause bleeding/spotting)

Im praying for good news for you.

I don't see why Baby aspirin would harm anything, my OBGYN has had me on it for a while whilst ttc, and said to continue up til 20 weeks...
