Well I started passing clots this morning and my temp plummeted, so I know I have lost my second. I just wanted to pop in here and ask you girls for some advice. I have a doctors appointment set for Friday. Though that may change to sooner once I let them know I have started miscarrying. I feel I need to bring some issues up with my doctor. But I don't know much about testing with multiple miscarriages. My doctor told me that they don't do any special testing until you've had 3 miscarriages. But she has been great so far and I think I will be able to persuade her to do some extra testing. Any ideas on what I should ask for? I did temp until this morning, so if my chart will give any indications of anything please let me know. I am completely at a loss in this.
I do have multiple thyroid cysts but was told that my levels themselves were normal in February. Could they have changed do you think? Should I get them checked again?
ETA: I was just thinking. My LP is rarely longer than 11 days. It is usually 11 days but once in a while can be as short as 9 days. Could this be causing my problems?

First off I am so sorry for your losses... seeing people having multiple losses breaks my heart.. HUGS
I would see if they will start off by doing some bloodwork... Print out you chart.. and let her know that you LP is short... that can be a problem... Good Luck

I'm sorry for your losses. I've never had any testing done, but I've heard that a short LP can cause problems, so I would take any charts you have showing your LP pattern and hopefully you can get some bloodwork done. I hope you can get some answers. HUGS.

Im sorry for this to happen again to you, jut not right. BW is the right way to start. A reaccurent m/c pannel will need to be done. There are lots of things they test for, like: blood clotting disorders, low progesterone (may not be done until next cycle though), auto immune disorders, and several others. these are some of the most common culprits. Your lp sounds border line. If it is regularly 11 days, that is not a problem. Under 10 would be though. I would also be cautious of your thyroid, that could be a big problem if it is off in any way. Im sorry your having to deal with this again, but hopefully they can run the bw and give you some answers. KUP and good luck, praying they come back and say "just bad luck" and your next one will be a sticky one.

I'm so sorry for your loss hun. HUGS.
If I were you, I'd definitely let her know about your LP and get your thyroid checked again. It can't hurt, and the testing for either can start out as just blood work... I'm sure she'll at least do that.. and maybe even more. Good luck hun. I hope you find some answers.

Thank you girls. I am getting ready right now to head to my first appointment with my endocrinologist to check the cysts on my thyroid to make sure they haven't grown like my mom's. I will be sure to ask if he can do the thyroid blood tests again. They never told me my actual levels last time just told me they were normal. I still haven't been told the results of my hcg blood test from Monday, if they don't call by 2 today I think I will call them. Last time I went in for a blood test they actually called my dad? I'm not really sure why they did that. They called him and told him I could check my results online. A little irritating. Still don't understand why in the heck they would call my dad. Anyways, hopefully we get some answers.
As far as my LP..I'm not sure whether it's a problem or not...maybe, maybe not.
It jumps around in length so much that I'm sort of half and half. Half bad, half good. We'll see what the dr thinks on Friday. My main thing I think I am going to ask is to get my progesterone checked. For some reason I've had a feeling that I might have low progesterone ever since we started trying in February. Maybe it's just in my head but it has been a concern and usually I have concern for good reason..

Drs appointment went well. He was a very informative dr for once! I am so glad to have found someone who informs me of more than my drs have in the past. I had someone in another forum(not sure if it was on JM or babycenter) tell me that they had one dr who said normal thyroid levels were 3-4 and another who said that to get pregnant your better at 1-2. I mentioned this to the dr and he seemed very interested. Said he hadn't heard of that before but said something about changes in bone marrow or something.. I don't remember exactly. But he said he would look into it for me for sure. He seemed very interested. Nice to see a dr who is more interested in the new info than being the classic stuck in the old times dr. After he finds that info I will decide whether or not to do the blood test. He said that thyroid levels don't really change in early pregnancy so he didn't think a change was a concern. It would have been different if I had been in second or third trimester. He also went on a tangent about hypothyroidism being a big problem in pregnancy that can cause some fetal development problems. I also was lucky enough that he pulled out all of my test results from March when I was sick, so I got to see my levels and everything that no one had really informed me of other than saying they were "normal".
I had a blood test done in march during AF that showed bad anemia(when the drs office called me they told me I was only slightly anemic). This doctor told me I was VERY anemic. I didn't write down the levels so I don't remember but they were low. When I had taken that test they had me come in for a redo..which was about a week or two after AF that came up normal. This makes me wonder if I don't get really anemic every month during AF so I am going to ask for that blood test on friday.
My last concern that ...I have NO clue why I didn't think of it before... I had a vitamin D deficiency(levels:25.9, normal is 30-74) in march while I was already taking 400IU daily which was never again checked up on. They never had me come in to redo the test so I figured since it was summer I didn't need to take them anymore(other than the 400 that was in my prenatal). The rheumatologist told me that it was probably just related to the fall and winter months(vit D deficiency in the winter is very common here in Washington). I was just thinking maybe I STILL have that deficiency...vit D deficiency can cause miscarriage. THIS gives me some hope vit D deficiency can also put a damper on trying to get pregnant. It would explain just about everything. So I will definitely be asking for that blood test as well!
Sorry this turned out so long. lol. It was exciting to figure out some more info today!! Just wanted to share

They called with my blood test results and I asked for the vit D test as well. She said the blood test was barely positive at 7 and had me go back in to take another one(which I just got back from). Hopefully the results to the tests come in soon. I am not much interesting in the hcg test as I know it is going to be 0, but I REALLY want to know if I am still vit D deficient!

Sorry I'm kinda late in this ... I'm hypo myself & so if you EVER need someone to help you out in the thyroid dept I don't mind at all! You can PM me or visit the Thyroid Disorders board (link in my siggie ). Normal thyroid levels are 0.3-3.0, anyone who says they are higher is WRONG. Also 1-2 is GOOD for TTC but what's really better is to make sure your Free T3 & Free T4 is in the upper end of normal.
A great book on hypothyroidism, that I recommend to everyone who is hypo, is... Amazon.com: Living Well with Hypothyroidism Rev Ed eBook: Mary J. Shomon: Kindle Store
I hope you get it all figured out soon!

I can't remember which, when I looked at the results I remember one of the numbers I had was like 1 point something, then I think the other number was 3.2 or 3.5 or something..wish I could remember specifically! There was one more, but I don't remember what that one was at all...
