Well throughout my journey on JM.. I first joined and went to Am I pregnant, than moved onto my DDC. I soon lost that baby, and moved into the Pregnancy loss board, very soon After TTCAL... I than got to Grad to Pregnancy after Loss. Than again another loss.. back to TTCAL.. and since it was my third loss.. RPL Board..... and now... I get to move on to the TTC with Male infertility.
Yes DH SA came back.... and it is not good... The Dr even said he is surprised we were able to concieve 3x's. The Numbers are:
12 million- should be > than 20 million
13% motility should be more than 50%
3% morphology they like to see above 4% (I am confused about that one)
I cant win the lottery... but hot ****.... my % of steping in the infertility/loss luck is on a winning streak!!

So sorry to see how difficult this has been for you! Are there treatments your DH can get? I'm sorry- I don't know much about male infertility! I hope you & your DH can get all of this sorted out very soon....

Oh... man... so sorry Kary What did the doctor say you could do?? Is it a good sign that you have gotten pregnant 3 times (i.e. maybe the spermies he has are doing an excellent job)?
I really hope your luck changes and that your doctor can get you pregnant and help you stay pregnant!!

Oh Kary, I'm sorry you have another issue to deal with. Have you discussed other options with your dr. like IUI or IVF? I know it can be really costly, but I don't know if anything else can be done wiht Male infertility. I think the chances with IUI are pretty good and it doesn't cost too much. Hust wanted to send you a great big HUG!!

Kary, I dont think you should count your DH out just yet. I know his counts were not idealistic, but dont they usually do another count to compare? Sometimes things can affect the first testing, like when was the last time you dtd, sleeping, eating and such. Ive seen alot of women who have their dh get tested at least twice to get a clear picture.
My dh has to get the sperm testing done too, per my insurance. My first thought was "cant be his issue, he got me pg three times in one year". then I opened your email. But I have seen a lot worse numbers than your dh's and for your dr. to make a statement how he "is shocked you got pg three times", is a bit pre-mature, as men with worse cases go onto to conceive naturally.
My brother was given less than 1million count, was told he had a 1% chance of ever concieving on his own. He conceived the next month without surgery or help. It does happen. As long as there are live ones in the batch, it only takes 1 sperm to get you pregnant, hense the reason for 3 pregnancies this year alone!
Make sure you talk to your dr. about a repeat test within two weeks. You need more to compare too. HUGS to you......

oh hugs kary. the amount you've been through is just beyond unfair. i'm so sorry. what's the plan now? since you're getting pregnant, are they not worried about it? or do they think that could mean a genetic problem in some of the sperm? hopefully it's fixable soon for a sticky baby! hugs!

HUGS. I don't know a whole lot about male infertility. I know that with the morphology (not sure what a good % is), problems with the sperm can lead to m/c due to chromosonal defects. And I know there are ways to boost sperm count....and I've read that diet and environmental factors can also improve the morphology. I'm sure you guys will explore all avenues....hopefully there is something that can be done. When do you find out more? Do you have any follow-up appts. scheduled? How is DH dealing with this? Maybe IUI is something to consider down the road. Geesh, again...more hugs.

I'm really sorry! Have you talked about your options with your doctor? Those numbers seem high enough for IUI to be a good option for you. While it isn't cheap by any means....it's also a lot cheaper than IVF. Good luck. I hope you are able to find a plan that works for you very soon.

I'm sorry for your news, Kary. How frustrating that must be to go through so much! It does look like you guys are beating the odds, though, with being able to get pregnant three times already. I hope you get your baby soon!

HUGS Kary...file this under "when it rains it pours"...i think it's a good sign that you were able to get pregnant even w/DH's counts. I know absolutely nothing about male infertility, but have met several women on JM who had successful pregnancies through IUI where their DH had poor counts (or swimming issues)...is that something you're considering?

Kary....the positive thing here is you ARE getting answers. No matter what the news or how bad it seems, its better when you know. Then you can take action. I think this is great that you guys "know" about this one. Then you can attack it head on.
Also, another positive is that your DH has swimmers! I know someone who for some reason (i'm forgetting at the moment) shoots blanks all the time. He and his wife never even had a chance. And they had to consider donor IF they wanted to get pg. But you aren't there! Not by a mile!
Keep your chin up!

Kary I am sorry you aren't having any good news right now, but dont give up hope... I am sure the Dr's can help so that you have the best possible chances of getting that baby or babies in the end.. Hang in there.. Remember " With God ALL things are possible".

Hugs hun. Try to stay positive. I know they usually do the test at least twice because there are so many reasons for it to vary.

That just stinks! I would have him retested though before throwing in the towel. I would see about getting him on some vitamins and I believe zinc sometimes helps and retest. I of course would see what your doctor has to say as well. I am sorry Kary.

Kary - I am so sorry. I don't know much about MI. The only experience I have had with it is this:
My BFF IRL has two daughters from a previous marriage. She and her second husband wanted a baby together and got pregnant right away and had a missed M/C at 8 weeks. Got 2nd BFP first try after and m/c at 11/12 weeks after hearing the heartbeat on doppler at 10 weeks. After that, they did the testing and the doctors told them they had LESS THAN 1% chance of concieving and carring to term. Something to do with his swimmers, but can't remember what. They said they could do surgery, but it only improved their chances to 40-50%. They made the decision of no surgery, but they were not going to try anymore. She got pregnant on accident. After 40 weeks of stressing out = Her son is almost 2 and perfect.
It can happen, even with all the challenges that seems to be hitting you head on. God does not make the bad things happen to us, there is no "reason" for it- they are a product of the free will we were given. But, he is beside you through the entire journey and is comforting you, even in the hardest of times.
HUGS to you!
Kat.
