Tomorrow morning I'm headed home to New Orleans to have my DD's birthday party with my family. I will be back on Sunday night, and was wondering if Monday morning (7 dpo) would be too early to start testing? I know everyone talks about the 2ww, but how early is the earliest possible time to get a BFP?

Also, my OPKs are confusing me.. I started taking them 6 days ago and they were getting progressively darker with the one from this afternoon being the darkest (but still not as dark as the control line). I took one again about 6 hours later to see if it would be darker than the one from this afternoon, but it was lighter... What does that mean? Should I try to do an OPK tomorrow at a rest area or something? I really wanted to get a positive one so that I would know when I ovulated!

OPKs - I think once they start to get lighter, your surge is going down. You might wanna take one tomorrow just for kicks but it will probably be lighter than this afternoon. So, that means you may have O'd 12-36 hours from your darkest one. Sometimes you can miss the peak depending on when you used them.

As for HPTs...i do think 7DPO is early. I think around 10 DPO is the earliest I have heard of people getting BFPs. But, if you have extra HPTs than why not? haha. Good luck!

Here's how I took the OPKs..

10/27 1:30pm
10/28 1:30pm
10/29 1:30pm
10/30 1:30pm and 7:30pm
10/31 5:30pm (forgot to test bc I was busy)
11/1 12:30pm (<---darkest line) and 6:30pm (line getting lighter..)

Can that info help to pinpoint when I ovulated any better? Also, we DTD 24th, 26th, 29th, 30th and 31st. How are my chances looking? I'm so confused..

It sounds like you just had your surge, so O can happen within 12-36hrs from the surge according to FF. I would wait at least 10 days from today which could put you at 8-10dpo.

I like to wait to test until 10dpo ideally, but if I have cheapie strips I might dunk 'em early anyways. I'm not one to get an early + hpt, it's usually @ 14dpo

Re: OPKs - with the IC's I never ever got a full positive. When the line would start to show I would switch to the digis.

Re: testing - I'm in the "never test early" camp. I find BFN's way too depressing. If you must test early (as so many of you gals do) I would wait until at least 10 - 11 DPO.

Celena got it on the head, I thik you O'd today, so 8-10 days from here would be ideal. 10 being early, but hopefully a really early bfp. 8dpo is a little more rare, although I have had 8dpo, it was not until 9dpo that it could be seen on camera.

I have gotten my BFP's at 9dpo... so if at 9dpo.. I don't get a BFP... I know I am out for that month.... I hope this is your cycle!!! GOOD LUCK!

I would BD a little more just in case your cycle is a little different this month and you O'ed today.

I have a short cycle so I usually test + around 9dpo and know I am out by 10dpo but most have to wait until 11-12 dpo.

Thanks, ladies! I'm going to TRY to wait to test until 10 DPO - which is not until the 12th! How will I ever make it that long?

I start testing at 9-10dpo but I've never gotten a + until 11 and 12dpo. It all just depends on implantation which can be different for everybody every single time. And I think today is probably your O day. If you BD'd 2 days ago you're still OK. You don't really need to use any more OPKs...once you get a + you're fine. And if you saw it getting lighter then your surge is probably done.
