Ok ladies, I am going to the doctor on Thursday. I know I'm going to forget things so I decided to write it all down ahead of time. Can you all think of anything I'm forgetting?
Irregular Cycles:
- They were 35 days up until recently
- The last several before my wedding were only 30 days
- This past cycle was 40 days.
Shortened Menses
- In the beginning they were 5 days heavy to medium flow.
- A couple of years ago they shortened to 3 days of heavy, medium, light.
- Several months ago it shortened even more to 1 day of light flow. (Sometimes nothing more than spotting.)
- This last period was 24 hours of heavy/medium flow.
3 Miscarriages
Cysts (recurrent)
- Usually on left ovary
- Possibly have another one now?
Intercourse
- Cannot penetrate (cuz I'm too tight) without oral
- Painful in any position other missionary
Chronic Constipation
- With occasional bouts of diarrhea during (or around) menses
Cramps
- Occasionally so bad that all I can do is curl up in a ball
- Midol and Tylenol do not help

Your concerns are definitely note worthy. I pray that your dr. starts some good testing on you. The shortened cycles are a bit concerning, everything else seems to be ok, IMO. Im sure for you having answers on all of them will give you some relief and a plan to get your BFP right away!

I hope that your DR addresses your concerns. Sounds like it could be a couple things. I hope it is all easily fixed.
Edit to add. I am going to go out on a limb and embarass myself
DH and I had painful intercourse and can still only do certain positions. I was also having irregular bleeding after intercourse. We saw many a dr . But one did explain that sometimes painful intercourse can be a result of not being ready arousal wise. Basically you are meant to accommodate your spouse and kind of grow like he does. But when you don't get that stimulation you won't accommodate and so sex becomes painful. After a while you will stop because you fear the pain so much and it only makes the problem worse. I am unsure if this is what is happening for you but I know its something that DH and I had to work on together and I had to tell him that we needed to slow or whatever. Things are better now but there are still positions we can't do.
For the horrible cramping I used to have to start a couple days before with motrin just to keep the pain down and managable. I know its harder when you are TTC to do that. Midol with naproxen is a wonderful medicine that might offer you some relief if you don't already take something like that.

Have you ever been checked for endometriosis? (sp?) My RE was nearly sure that I had it because of 1. painful intercourse 2. short, light periods and 3. chronic constipation w/ diarrhea just before and during AF. That and because there was a history of it in my family.

I would also recommend getting check for PCOS. Some of your symptoms remind me of mine and I have PCOS.

Thanks ladies. Both PCOS and Endo have been on my mind. I hope they are willing to take the time and cover it all.

Good luck with your appointment Augie!
And Jess, I had the same thing with my ex-husband. It took him a while to figure out sex wasn't just about "insert here".

Unfortunately, I can't take Naproxen at the moment. (I was told I was allergic, but I think they just overdosed me.) I plan on trying again at some point, but I don't think it's a good idea during ttc, just in case.

I'm posting here following your link from TTC w/endo I agree with the other ladies. It sounds like both. I was just diagnosed with PCOS as well and a lot of the time the endo symptoms seem to mask the PCOS symptoms. It may take a lot of tests and needles to get your answers but I hope you get them soon!!. As far as the pain goes none of the over the counter stuff works for me either. Mention Ponstel to your doctor. It's not a narcotic so you can actually function and it works wonders (for me at least). Please let us know in the endo board how your appointment goes
