So today is the day before I lost my last bean. So me, I decided to test... I'm not sure I should have. I used a dollar store test, and the test line is clearly lighter than the last dollar store test I took a month ago...so I need some opinions...and please be honest...because honestly, I think I may have lost my second.
How reliable are dollar store tests? (I didn't buy them I got them as a gift)
Should I try a FRER?
How reliable is testing at this stage in the game to determine pregnancy?

If your past the 10wk mark, they are supposed to go down, it should not be as dark as last month at all. Your levels drop from 10-12wks, thats why it would be lighter than last month. I think you will be just fine. Hang in there honey, your almost past your biggest mildstone.....sending lots of positive thoughts for you today.

I agree! Also DO NOT test any more! Hun that is just going to put added stress on you and your bean. If your worried about it I would call the doctor and see if you could go in for a quick scan. Hugs!

Marci - I agree with the other here. I know the urge to test is strong but after a certain point your HCG levels even out and will naturally come down a bit. Also at this point comparing the tests that are a month apart is not very reliable.
Hang in there! You will get through today and tomorrow. We are here for you.

Dollar store tests are notorious for not getting darker. The darkness doesn't matter. The test only determines whether or not you are pregnant (and you are!), not how pregnant you are.

Save yourself some undue stress and do NOT test!
Marci, you'll get thru this, it is a very sensitive time right now and you're getting past that hump. But don't tourture yourself anymore with testing it isn't a reliable way to see if you're going to miscarry. The chances are SUUUUUPER slim that you even would have a 2nd loss. If you're that worried & scared call your doctors office tell them you want to be seen today!!! The worry and stress isn't good for your little beaner, so try to chillax as much as possible.... and let your OB take care of you 2

Marci, I'm sorry today is such an incredibly difficult day for you (understandably so). I agree with the other ladies to not test anymore. As you go further in pregnancy, your HCG levels decline and are not reliable. If you are really worried, why don't you call the doctor? You could probably get another U/S to ease your mind. I'll be thinking of you today.

Your welcome hun. Have you though about maybe getting a doppler at home. I know for some it helps them ease the worry

I am glad you decided to stop testing. I know it is soooo hard to not think about it, but try to keep your mind off things because stress will only make it worse!

I have thought about getting a doppler, and I really just need to talk to DH about it...I was going to wait until I heard the HB for the first time at the Dr. and then I was fairly certain that I should be able to hear it on my own. I'm am just worried that being a worrier by trade, that it will just make me more nervous if I can't find the HB...KWIM??? I will have to talk to DH about it, because at this point, I think it may be better than the uncertainty.

Ditto to the other ladies, the only thing your hpt confirmed is that you are pregnant. There are so many factors that effect the darkness of the line, how much dye is on it, how concentrated your urine is, etc. Its also true that hcg starts going down around 10 weeks. I can understand why you are worried, and i hope your fears are put to ease at your appointment on Wed.
I rented a home doppler when i was pregnant with Enzo. I was around 12 weeks, and was able to find the h/b right away. My friend was a few weeks behind me and could not find her's for a few weeks. It just depends on where your bean is, and where the placenta is. If you are a worrier you may want to wait a few more weeks when you will be able to find your bean quicker.
