TTC after D&C

Last Saturday I had a D&C because I lost my baby weeks before...my OB wants me to wait until I get my period, then two more cycles on top of that.

So I decided to start charting the day after my D&C.

My coverline is 97.3 and all of my temps are above that. I know it's still early. Does anyone know when my temps might go down? I wish I knew when to expect my period because I'm a teacher and I hate starting my period during school or whatever...usually I know when it's coming. I think I'll get lucky and start over Christmas break, most likely =) But does anyone have any experience with this?

Hey Ang -

I don't know much about charting, but, if it helps I had my D&C October 29th and exactly 28 days later (the day before Thanksgiving) I got my period. My cycles used to be 28 to 29 days so looks like mine are right back on track, I hope yours are too!

Congrats on your period! My cycles are like 25 days...I'm an early ovulator =) I assume my temps should go down though. Since my coverline was 97.3 before I'd think it would be again. Although when I had my kids my coverline was 97.8!!! As I get old my temps get lower =) I wonder if this whole thing will change me?

I'm excited to be TTC again! I've been hanging out on the WTTC board mostly, since we do have to wait. I did stop bleeding 5 days after the D&C so I'm glad that's all done. One step closer, DH says!

I didn't bleed at all after my D&C, but I'm glad you're back to normal as far as that goes because I know it can last longer for some people.

I think it's odd how different doctors have different wait periods for TTC again after a miscarriage. Mine said to wait one normal cycle, which I now have. You said yours said 3 and I've heard up to 5! I think I'll know when your body is ready though.

My AF was about 32 days after my D&C. Everyone is different. Some women take 6 weeks to get it back. Don't be worried if it takes a bit. And after each pregnancy regardless of how they end your body can get on a new cycle. So maybe this is your new normal.
