Today I went on a last walk through on the house I am closing on tomorrow.

It was really sad to stand in what would have been the baby's room...and I decided I can't leave it empty. I'm going to make it a guest room. Dh says we can leave the bed in there and put in a crib when we have a baby so we can zonk out there if need be. I think that's a good idea!

I love the house so much and can't wait to move in (Dec 19 is moving day, although starting tomorrow we are unpacking about 3 boxes a day.) DH and I are arguing over where to place furniture...he is 33 years old and JUST married me 5 months ago...so he is full of bachelor ideas and he thinks I'm tacky.

He wants to put a recliner in FRONT OF THE FIREPLACE. The beautiful fireplace I just paid 200K for. I told him to just buy a wallpaper border of naked women and put it around the room. He was like "Dude that's a good idea!"

I do get to do the kitchen in cats, just like in the house I'm in now. So I can't complain too much. But we differ TREMENDOUSLY on styles...he has never liked mine and I've never liked his!!!

This could take awhile =) My kids are in school (their old school) until Dec 23 and the school I teach at is off on Dec 18. So after we move I have three SOLID DAYS with no DH and no kids to unpack and set up. I'm going to blast music from my ipod and bust butt. Our goal is to have a New Year's Eve party with all of our friends and their kids.

Hey, we should scratch the end table and put a keg there. Rock?

Angela, of course since we lead parallel lives this was our year for moving too. Pat and I have different tastes in decorating too but thankfully most of his decorations got donated before the move. No, I didn't force him, he just decided that it was stuff from his "past life". LOL

Now that we're in the house (we moved in on our wedding night) he could care less about how it's decorated. I love that about him.

Good luck with your move. I'm sure that Keith will give you some freedom with the decorating since most people don't come in and tell the MAN "I love what YOU did with this place"-- credit is always given to the woman. LOL

Haha Ang, sounds like you have a lot on your plate with him, lol. Glad you at least get to do the kitchen the way that you want. I would take those 3 days and set up as much as you can and be like, "oops, sorry!"

I'll post pics once we are moved in. Unless DH gets his way...then I will post pics of MY stuff the way I want it before he goes and makes it look like bar night at Hooters or whatever =)

See that's the thing...I don't want the credit if it looks like a bachelor pad!

I unpacked about 6 boxes today. DH came over and helped me unload. I want to do more tomorrow but he is already tired of it.

I have 1/2 day of school on Friday...I'm going to go over there with my ipod and kick some serious butt!

I decided not to paint. The house is a million different colors I used to not like but I decided it has character and I want to leave it as it. That ought to make my life easier!!!

I'm doing the kitchen first, definately. SO excited =)
