I was on pins and needles all day long. When I went in to my RE's office the tech did a full bladder abdominal u/s first. She did her thing and the whole time I couldn't see the screen and thought to myself, darn...she's being awfully quiet. Finally she said she was done and turned the screen to me and showed me the sac and said that it's measuring 5w3d. I thought I was going to faint. I know based on AF that would be right, but I O'd much sooner than cd14 and no way I would have gotten a BFP on cd19 if that was the case. She said there was no fetal pole just the sac, but not to worry. I went to the bathroom to pee and just felt so disappointed. She must have been new because when I came out of the bathroom she told me she forgot to do the vag. u/s. I thought it kind of weird that she would have done an abdominal this early on, but what do I know. So then she proceeds to do the vag u/s and after about 5 minutes she turns the screen to me and lo and behold there is a yolk sac, the baby AND A HB!!! WOOOHOOOOO!!! I couldn't believe my eyes. Everything looked perfect and the baby measured 6w3d, so right on track with my O date.
I am so relieved...phew!!!!!! I can't believe she put me through hell by doing the abdominal u/s first.

Oh MY GOD! I don't know what to say. I am so happy for you, but so mad you had to go through that worry for nothing. Seriously, I would have had words with her. If she only knew what you had been through before... ugh. But so glad everything is great!!!!!

Trish - So happy for a great appt! She did the ultrasounds in that order because an abdomnal has to be done with a full bladder and a interal ultrasound with an empty bladder. So glad that it went so well!

That is so great you got a heartbeat. They usually do an abdominal first for the full bladder and to see other things... I thought but could be so wrong. Sorry you got a new girl who scared you.

Congratulations, Trish!!! That's so exciting...I can't wait to eventually get to the point where a BFP leads to hearing a heartbeat!!! KUP!!!!

I asked for a pic and she gave me one, but it's kind of blurry and not much you can really see. When I get into the office on Monday I'll scan it.
