So, I took my temp this morning at 6:15. It was 97.07 (about .5 degree lower than normal) But, after I took it, I wasn't sure if I waited for the beeps or if I took it out of my mouth too soon. So, I took it again at 6:25. It was 97.39. This time, i knew i heard the beeps, etc.

Is that normal to have that much of a temp difference in 10 mins time? I stayed in bed the whole time. I might have been more awake for the second...that's about it.

Anyway, what do you all think?

HUMM Jenn, I have never had that much of a jump... I have had different temps from one side of my mouth to the other.... and depending on the time of the cycle is if I us the higher or lower. have I ovulated? Will the temps change crosshairs.. have i got a + opk? KWIM? I would use the first the lower.. you haven't had a + opk, and if your temp is going to rise it will rise and hopefully you will get cross hairs. that coinside with your thermal shift... (but I would put your second temp in your notes.. than if you think at a later time you should use the second temp you will have a record of it.)

I agree with Kary - if it's not going to give you crosshairs, then I would go with the lower temp. I've never had that much of a jump, but I've definitely been a multiple tester... but it does fluctuate around .1 difference for me. If you're not ready to ovulate in the next day, it probably won't matter too much. Good luck!

Hey Jennifer!

I take my temp at least a couple times because I ran into that problem before and went with the one that had a consistant reading. If it was too different I'd take it a 3rd time (is that too much? LOL!)

I don't think it matters whether you were more awake after 10 minutes or not if you hadn't gotten up or tossed n turned which would create more heat in your body.

Go with your 1st temp or perhaps one that's in the middle of the two? I've done that before too.

Write them both down, take notes...I thought I wasn't ovulating but when I looked back at about day 20...I saw the pattern (and I did this month, after the D&C!) Try not to concentrate on just one number.
