REALLY!?! So yesterday the dr's office tried to call me with the results of my testing BUT AT&T still hadn't fixed their tower. So I go with Chris to work, which means sitting in his office for TEN hours so that I don't miss the call. (I returned the call this morning and left a message.) The office just called to say he's not in today and will call me tomorrow. ***** I can't guarantee that my phone will WORK tomorrow. Chris is off, so I can't just come to work with him. I could scream. I just want my **** results! Is it really so hard????

Can you drive to the Dr's office tomorrow and ask them? (or is it too far away?) I am sorry for all of the frustration.

Oh my... how annoying!!! Can you borrow someone else's phone? Or like Missy said, go to the office? Or get a hold of AT&T and SHAKE them by the neck? I'm so sorry!!! HUGS!

I'm sorry you have to play phone tag with the Dr. It's so annoying, especially when it's not possible to sit in front of a phone all day. I hope you get to speak with the Dr. tomorrow. Fingers crossed for you!

(((HUGS))) I really hope that AT&T can get the tower fixed by tomorrow. Is there any chance that the Dr would send you the results via email? (just a shot in the dark, not even sure if that's something they would do or not).

Well phone and net are still barely working. I did get my results though. I am compound heterozygous for MTHFR.

Basically, I now take an aspirin, my prenate, B6, B12, and extra folic acid daily. I'm not at home now so I don't have my bookmarks, but I'll try to share some links soon. (If my net will work at home. My cell tower's been down and we have cellular internet.)

Hey Augie.. I thought I would jump in a just give the Meat and potato's
Hey Missy...
In basic english... She has a clotting disorder. That they believe can cause early m/c... I say believe because thier is so many different beliefs of Drs.. (What bugs the crap out of me... is when you read message boards.. like this and so many others) All the women who have the MTHFR mutation and just how many losses they have had... (But still Drs say... oh well were not sure THIS is the reason.. BS)
Ok let me get off my soap box. If her homosystine levels (a blood test) are normal.. Augie is at NO increase risk for a Blood Clot. But with this mutation they think with the deveolping baby the vessels are so small they clot off cutting off blood supply to developing baby. Causing a m/c. If Augie's homosytine levels are elevated... than She would be at a higher risk for HER getting blood clots.. in her legs, lungs... and so on.
Augie is Compound Heterozygous. She has gotten one gene mutation from her mom, and one from her dad... She has one copy of each Mutation A1298C and
C677T. This is the Second worse to have.... Only second to having 2 copies of the C677T.
I have the third worse to have I am Homozygous for the A1298C meaning I have two copies of the same Mutation (meaning I got one copy from my mom and one from my dad.)
Also with this mutation.. your body have a hard time converting Folic Acid.. hence the increase in Folic acid.. and the B vit's... help the body convert the folic acid. The Baby aspirin that she will be taking.. is used as a blood thinner, to help those small vessels in the developing baby from clotting. (They also might have her do injections once she concieves)
I hope this makes scense.... it can be very confusing...
Aug, Hope you don't mind me putting it in a easier explianation than to put in links..

Oh no! That's pretty scary.
I'm sorry to ask this but with that disorder can you carry a baby full term or would it have to be delivered early?
I'm sorry, I've had pretty healthy pregnancies so I don't know about all this stuff.
I hope everything works out and you get a sticky bean soon.
