You will find sites that say Progesterone should be started with in 24 hours of Ovulation. Any thing past that it might be too late. My OB still put me on the progesterone.. as a, as he put it ... we are grasping at straws... So after my Ultrasound.. I was told to start on Tues... So I did... and the IPS were awful! If I wasn't one the progesterone.. I would have swared I was pregnant.. but my temps were not high enough... So I stoped it.. and my temps are plumiting....
Now... a question for you... did you have your pregnancy that resulted in your loss confirmed by blood work? And did they test your progesterone with that pregnancy? If they did that might give you an idea what your levels were than.

You know what is really strange, is that with my last pregnancy they did not do blood work to confirm the pregnancy. I had told them I wanted to confirm it when I first made my first appt and they told me they did not do blood work to confirm. It was weird. I guess they use the home test in the office to confirm. So I have no idea what the levels were in the beginning. When I found out that the baby didnt have a heartbeat then I asked for a hcg level test to make sure the levels were going down. Now I have no idea if that includes the progesterone or not.
My cycles are pretty normal and its usually every 28 days. I am also very very sick durning the first 12 wks of pregnancy so that could mean my levels are just fine. Not sure.
I do love my Dr but have wondered if I should go somewhere else for the testing I want. I could make an appt with him and talk directly to him but it takes forever to get into see him and the staff ask why you are making an appt and if I tell them for progestrone testing then they probably would not make my appt. So not sure what to do. I could take the over the counter progesterone just in case but most of it has other stuff in it that I dont want to take.
