So I went to my doctor on Dec 2nd for a post-miscarriage appointment. While I was there I asked if I could try progesterone supplements. He told me that it wouldn't help but I could try it if I wanted.

Most of my miscarriages were very early. I got several + HPTs that got darker for 3-4 days and then got lighter and I started spotting. That's when I'd go to the doctor. My blood HCG levels at that point would be between 4-8. Then the next day I would start bleeding out. Only 3 of my miscarriages have gotten far enough to be seen on ultrasound.

So at my appointment my Dr. looked at my chart and noticed this pattern. He told me that it's possible that they weren't miscarriages. He says that I could have a hormonal imbalance. and that when I use a HPT it shows positive because of an FSH/LH imbalance. So instead he's prescribed clomid.

Does this sound real? It doesn't make any sense to me. So have I grieved over losses that never existed? Or is my Dr full of crap? I can't seem to find any info online to support his theory...

What do you gals think?

I would think that your doctor would be able to do tests to confirm a hormonal imbalance. I'd want more answers too.

I would get a 2nd opinion. I think if he suspects a hormonal imbalance he should test for it first before putting you on medication. Mind you there was a lady in our Aug. DDC who thought she was pregnant had + hpt and found out she wasn't and that it was her hormones. So I guess it could be possible. Someone also mentioned that it could have been due to a cyst. I'm sorry you are doubting your body and I hope you get some answers soon!

Hmmm, very good question! That is something that could be considered for sure, but I would suspect he would do more bloodwork? Or has he done bw already?

Would your dr refer you out to see a specialist or dig a little deeper?

Very interesting, I'll try to look somethings up for ya! \\

I did have a dr tell me my migraines were due to my hormones, but never did any testing to confirm it or disprove it. But that is totally different than TTC and what he said.
