Totally stinkin bummed out today. I took a FRER this morning, and the line is sooooo much lighter. Like, barely visible light. I'm guessing this will be over for me soon. It was soo easy with my son, i'm so frustrated and sad now. The IC test is darker though, its weird. I'm guessing they aren't as reliable as the FRERs though.

Don't give up yet. The darkness of the line doesn't always mean anything. Maybe you could go get BW from your doctor.

The darkness of the line does not matter. A line is a line. There are different amounts of dye in each test. I would go get BT from the doctor. Hugs hun.

My doctor won't do it yet. Plus my insurance portion of that is $100, so I might as well just let nature take its course. I don't think there is much they can do anyways right? I'll try to stay positive, I was just totally bummed and freaked out when I saw that. Thanks for the support, so nice to have a board like this.

I agree with all the other ladies.. If the line is still getting darker on the IC that is good... As long as you see a line you are still pregnant.. Hang in there hun.

Hugs... I am sorry you have to go through this rollar coaster....

*This is from personal experiance*, and I hope this is not the case (since the IC is Darker)
After going through three losses... a line is not always a line.... While yes some tests do have different amount of dyes... I could monitor my levels with my HPT's... When I got my first HPT on Aug 27th.. the line was so light.. could bearly see it.. When I went in to get my Blood drawn 2 days later it came back at 31 (this was Fri). That Morning I took another HPT.. line getting darker.. and so on.. second blood work 90 (that was a Monday) ... my HPT was the darkest it would be.... I continued to test... the line never got Darker... I knew something was wrong. On Friday the blood work confirmed what the tests had already told me.. My HCG level was only 91.... it never rised.. They gave me the option.. d/c or natural.. I choose Natural... it took over 4 weeks for my numbers to drop... and the entire time I took HPT's... they got lighter and lighter.. very very slowly.. While yes some were darker than others (the dye factor)... they continued to "disapear" until It was confirmed by both the HPT and Bloodwork.. that my levels were under 10.

I hope the above is NOT that case for you.. and the FRER.. was just a little low on the dye .. and this does turn out to be your sticky bean! HUGS and KUP

I've had the same experiences as Kary, my HPT's always reflected the amount of HCG in my body. I do hope it isn't the case for you.

Well, I took another test at 12, and it was much darker than this morning. Looks pretty close to yesterdays test, so i'm feeling better now. I also took an ept, and it was very clearly positive. I'm going to try to stay away from the tests for a couple days, and see how that goes. I think i'm just 12dpo today, cd 28, so its still fairly early for a super dark line I think. I know its out of my hands, so i'll just pray and wait. Thanks Kary and Alicia for being honest with me, I appreciate it.

Glad to hear that you got some reassurance with another test. I think it's a great idea to stay away from the tests for a while. Praying that this baby sticks.

I would definitely try to not poas... book your 1st OB appointment and go from there. It's hard NOT to test, you want the reassurence I know I'm sorry. Just hang in there are try to remain positive; glad you have gotten some reassurence with a darker test. 12dpo is pretty early yet... please hang in there and I will be saying prayers for your widdle beaner in there.

Sorry you are stressing out! From personal experience, I've had a couple of chemicals where the line was dark one day and then went lighter the next and my levels had dropped. However with this pregnancy same thing happened. The FRER on day two was lighter (and it was with FMU) and it totally freaked me out but went darker again the next day. Sometimes the test have less dye in them and it is just a fluke that the line is lighter.
