I got my BFP last week (yay!); cautiously told DH and he's ecstatic. Now I have brown discharge. That's exactly how my last mc started. I'm so scared this is heading down the same road. I just don't think either of us can take another loss. Why does this keep happening?

Brown is ok. Try to stay positive. Have you gotten to a doctor for testing (HCG and progesterone)?

No, they told me that they won't see me until I am between 8-10 weeks along. Is that normal?

We are moving in April and were planning to get a new Ob/gyn when we moved but since we found out now, just decided to stick with our current Ob until the move. It's just frustrating that they won't see you until you are that far along, especially when you keep miscarrying before that time.

Dr.'s like to wait until you are at least 7-8 weeks along cause they can't see anything before that. I see on your pregnancy tracker that you are 5w 6d. IMO, I would call the Dr. tomorrow and beg to be seen sooner. Maybe when you are 7 weeks? The receptionist probably doesn't know what you are going through and only goes by your LMP before she can schedule an appt. Call again and explain what is happening and see if they can get you in sooner.

Like Mlyster said brown is ok but if this how your last m/c started I understand your worries. Please KUP.

would your GP do some basic blood work before your OB will see you. I have only ever seen my GP for my pregnancies (because you can't/don't get into an OB until later in the pregnancy) and she has done some basic testing (even ultrasounds) for me.

This was the same problem I had with my last OB, they would not see me until 12 weeks. I now I am not comfortable waiting for that long. I would give them another call and ask for the nurse, maybe she will be more understanding. Best of luck.

with the girls here on this... brown is old blood, BD'ing can irritate the cervix and I would try to see my GP or call to try to be seen earlier like someone had said. Explain your concerns and what has happened in the past.

Really hope that this isn't the case and you're going to have a happy healthy pregnancy!

I had brown spotting/discharge in my last pregnancy on and off till I was 6 weeks....I called my doctor and even though he doesn't see you till 8 weeks, they still had me come in a few times for blood draws to make sure the numbers were going up...Can you call and ask at least for them to do that? I'm sorry, and I hope it's nothing.

hugs to you... don't freak out brown blood is old. now i know that it is the way your miscarriage started the last time, but don't think the worst right away. Call the Dr. and if you tell them what is going on, they will make time to see you. good luck, i'm praying for you.

thanks everyone. DH and I did BD on Saturday but it seems that was too long ago for this?

I tried the doc but they won't budge. I'll try my GP tomorrow and see if I can at least get betas drawn. How long does it take to get the results back?

With your gp, probably the next day. Then make sure to follow up with another one, as one is never telling enough. The waiting sucks between draws, but its better than two weeks! Im sure all is fine!

Yes, call another doctor. I know MY ob would be like this, too, they basically don't COUNT a pregnancy unless you miss two periods...it's dumb. It counts. Find someone who will help! I mean, if you are losing it there is not neccessarily anything you can do, but if there was a way to stop it or lessen the chance, seeing a doctor is a good idea.

But, like everyone else said, brown blood is normal! So hopefully it's nothing =)

I have pink discharge this morning. I know what is coming. I'm just so frustrated, sad, disheartened by this. I am tired of praying to God and having it go unanswered every time. I just want to curl up in a little ball and not come out from under the covers.

Super big hugs hun. Have you called the Dr. Maybe they could check your HCG levels, progesterone & Estrogen. Sometimes your levels aren't right and you need supplements. I am so sorry you are going through this. PM me if you need anything... vent, yell, scream, cry I'm here for you.

God always answers prayers but sometimes they aren't the answers we want! Have you heard about our pg loss study on the Christian Parenting board? I know it helped me understand my loss in a whole new way that's why I wanted to do it here on JM to share it with others... http://www.justmommies.com/forums/f4...n-up-here.html (Pregnancy Loss Bible Study Info & Sign-Up Here)

sorry to be so negative, everyone. This is just such a rollercoaster ride.

I called the doc again today and got her to agree to let me come in for blood testing-but not until tomorrow. I'm just hoping that this little bean burrows on in and doesn't let go.

Either way, at least I will hopefully get some answers about my hormone levels and so on so next time I won't have to go through this.

Thanks again for all the support.

Have you had to strain to go to the bathroom or constipated? Straining believe it or not can cause you to spot or have discharge... I'm not trying to give you false hope, but hang in there and KUDOS to your being persistant and getting to go to your dr!!!

Please KUP and don't give up hope yet, please!

Saying lots of prayers!!!
