I was just wondering... is there an increased risk of having another miscarriage if you get pregnant too early after you M/C? I want to start having sex again in about a week... they told me I could have sex again after two weeks. But... if I get pregnant so soon... I worry about it being too soon... I would be so happy if I did get pregnant that soon.. but I worry about it being safe.. any thoughts?

I was told by my Dr.. IF everything is normal.. and your first m/c was just do to being in the 15%... of all pregnancies that end in m/c...You have no more of a risk than a woman who is pregnant for the first time.... Agin 15%..... And your body will not get pregnant unless it is ready to.... HUGS.. I hope in a few weeks you get your BFP!!!

We just miscarried in december and we are trying again. I was told that it was okay to try again since I passed it all naturally.

We started TTC more or less as soon as I stopped bleeding. I didn't get pg straight away, but I was hoping I would! My Dr said we could start trying as soon as I'd stopped bleeding, and if it would happen, it would happen!
GL!

I also m/c in December and my Dr. said I didn't have to wait more than one cycle, but it was important to wait that one for my uterus to get back to "normal." What ever that means I talked to my cousin that miscarried her second baby and was told to wait and didn't. She got pregnant and ended up losing that one too. It scared me into waiting a cycle. Who really knows though, seems like you hear so many different things with nothing really to back them up. I'd say if you feel ready, go for it!!! Good luck and lots of bfp vibes for you!

we got preggo right after our last loss...although we were going to wait to really try until 1 normal cycle - but there isn't really any physical harm in getting prego right away. Normally they like to see a cycle or two - plus it give you time. I'm sorry for your loss and i'm sending lots of BFP vibes to you!!

I just had a follow up appt with my doc and just started Af the day I went to the appt. He said to wait two more cycles, but said that was what was recommended but there wasn't really any science to back it up. He said they say that so your lining has a chance to build up but he said your lining builds up and sheds with each cycle. He told me he wouldn't be overly anxious if I got pregnant sooner. He also told me that having one mc didn't put me at extra risk for it happening again.

I'm so sorry for your loss! No, I did not have a D&C. I m/c naturally. I probably won't O for a while, so even if I do get preggo the first cycle... my uterine lining should be nice and thick... lol

I had my first loss in November (chemical). Doc said no harm in trying right away, no need to skip a cycle or anything. I ovulated on schedule, tried again, pregnant again, and lost it again. NEW doc said we probably should've waited to allow the uterine lining to rebuild. She said most certainly to wait this time around. Also, a doc friend of mine (not ob/gyn) says we should've waited a cycle last time and that we should wait 3 this time.

Also found this for you from this website:

Recurrent Early Pregnancy Loss - 1 - Implantation

This fella's name is Dr. Trofatter--he has a blog online and seems to know a lot about pregnancy loss and infertility.

To anonymous Apr 24: I think you have a better chance of having a successful pregnancy if you wait a few months after an early pregnancy loss (particularly after a D&C) for the lining of the uterus (the endometrium) to heal and regenerate and the 'inflammation' to die down. However, I also have had many women in your situation who conceived again before having another pregnancy and went on to carry successfully. Best of luck! Dr T
