1st - a little background for my non-cycle buddies. Had a d&c for missed m/c on 9/2/09. No major problems, little bleeding or cramping. Follow up exam on 9/29 - was routine. She told me if I did not get my period in a couple of months to come back. 10/1 - lower back cramps, but no period. Same thing on 10/26 - only more intense. Also changed Thyroid meds this week. 11/22 - serious cramps, pressure, pain - no period. Called Dr. - went on Prometrium for 2 weeks and if no AF in the next 4 weeks come back. 12/21 - same thing as last month, except more intense so made another appointment and it was today.

On to today's appointment. She did an exam and we talked a little about the thyroid levels (which are still kind of off, but better) She wants to go on two fronts 1) Do a 30 regimen of estrogen followed by 30 regimen of progesteron to see if that will start my period. In addition - she gave me a choice - a sonogram follow up sonogram (which I had in Nov.) and if the 60 day regimen didn't work go on to a hysteroscopy or bypass the sonogram and schedule the hysteroscopy now and start the 60 day after the hysteroscopy. I opted for the Hystrerscopy now - based on just having a sono in Nov and it was clear and my concern for the pressure I feel each month.

Now for the blood tests - she is checking all my hormone levels - FSH, estrogen, progesterone, prolactin and something else. In addition, because I am an autoimmune hot mess, my endocrinoligst asked her to run a recurrent loss panel - which she also did today. 9 vials of blood later. I feel very lucky to be able to get the recurrent loss panel after only 1 m/c. I should have the hormone levels next week and the rlp in two weeks.

I won't know when on the hysteroscopy until next week when the nurse calls to schedule. For 5 months I have felt like I have been in a holding pattern and haven't been able to move on because I am still waiting on my first AF post m/c. Each month I think - this is it back to normal and it never comes

whewh! That was a lot and if you made it this far, thank you for following my update! It looks like it will be another couple of months before I get to officially start TTC again, hopefully I will be back very soon. In the meantime - I am still lurking and hoping NONE of you are here when I get ready to TTC again!

Kat.

Im so happy for all the tests they are doing, knowledge is power. Praying for a good hysteroscopy, I never had one of those done, but I did have the HSG done and it was not to bad. Good luck to you, and cant wait till your back in the saddle again.....

Lori - Please don't hide your siggy from me - You are my cycle buddy and have been through so much more than I ever have - I am truly over joyed for you and want to see your ticker. I am living vicariously through you at the moment and that means I need to see your ticker move!

Kimberly - Thank you - any answers for you yet? I was really hoping this would be your month, too. I still lurk in the Operation baby thread

Alethia - I am really OK with all that is going on - for one, I am used to nothing going as it should with me medically and two - the timing really is not perfect for me right now - my busiest time at work is Sept - Nov., so going out on maternity leave would not be the best thing for me professionally (My co. would never discourage it or even hold it against me but - I know I would end up working from home with a newborn) I do appreciate the hugs - Just once I would like to be a text book medical case!
