I know this topic is very sensitive but I am really in need of some answers. DH won't have insurance until I am 6 months pregnant I am currently waiting for Medicaid to come through in the time being. That being said...
I had my bfp on new years day. the next day I bled a little, it was red. That was Jan.2. They did a beta at the ER and it was at 21
Friday Jan.8th I bled again. went to the Er and my beta was 540. Bleeding stopped, but it started again last night. But stopped only after a hour or so. It has yet to be heavy just light but it is red.
I have been checking my cervix before I got pregnant in able to help getting pregnant ,well since I have gotten pregnant I have very lightly ran my finger across the opening, sometimes it feels open, sometimes it feels closed. Is this normal? Or is this a sign of m/c?
I have never had a m/c so I have been a emotional rollercoaster. when I went to the ER on jan.8th they said I was around 4wks and when they did a ultrasound it showed nothing at all, but they said that is normal for only being 4weeks. They said my uterus showed thickening walls.
I have been cramping off and on. do you normally have bleeding off and on before you m/c. I am so nervous and medicaid won't get approved until the minimum of next monday. The er nurse she can't rule out miscarriage or tubal.

Hi,
I have been following your story on the September board as well. I am soo sorry you are going through this. Just in case anyone new to this board is reading this, there are some graphic details to follow to warn you if that will bother you. I wanted to tell you with my m/c I was 9 weeks, and it started with an awful migraine headache and bright red spotting (very little) but within an hour or two progressed to heavy bleeding by the time I got to the ER. From there, it was like a heavy heavy period for 2 weeks with awful cramping. I passed the sac and baby 2 days after starting to spot (TMI, but just wanted to give you a time line), and the cramps were unbearable like labor pains when that happened. I did not have on and off spotting like you describe, so maybe that means you are not having one. I don't want to scare you with my story, but just wanted to give you some hope that you are not following the same path I did, although I know everyone probably has different experiences with m/c. I am praying that it works out for you and that you get some answers! HUGS!!
PS I don't have any info on the cervical position question, as I don't really check that, just chart temps.

I'm not sure that you're going thru a miscarriage, your numbers are definitely rising... however I would keep monitoring it and get yourself to your doc asap. They can give you a clearer picture instead of assuming what you're going thru. I'm sorry that you're being scared and put thru this!!!
My friend bled for the first 4.5 months of her pregnancy only to go on and have a healthy baby afterwards. It had something to do with the implantation & position of the placenta so she was on bedrest for several months.
I know when I've been in the process of it was constant spotting that got darker and heavier until it was BRIGHT RED, clots and fleshy tissue... with "waves" of miniture contractions that were rather painful. Like a mini labor. My numbers were not doubling right either. I ended up with a lesion in my uterus.
INS..... some OB's will see you while you're in the process of getting insurance because of risk factors that aren't normal for pregnancy like spotting/bleeding. If I were you I would call your OB/GYN's office and see what they can do for you to monitor you. Either way I believe you'll be able to get and use any ins. for up to 2 months after any pregnancy for follow-up care reguardless. So if the finances are the concern about going to the doctor I wouldn't worry about it and get yourself in there, just show verification of the persuance of it.

I am so sorry for what you are going through...
First off from your Beta's the numbers seem ok.. As for the bleeding.. many people have bleeding in Pregnancy... It may not be a m/c...
As for m/c... sometimes you bleed sometimes you do not. I bleed for only one of mine.... The other two.. one needed a d/c and the other took 4 weeks after I was told my levels were not rising for me to start bleeding.
Good Luck.

Details don't bother me and I would prefer details so I can understand it more. Thank you for telling me your story and I am sorry for your loss.

Thank you for your response. I am not sure what is going on. I think the cramping is what is scaring me it feels like menstrual cramps but a little stronger and some stabbing like pains here and there. I called my previous obgyn and they said they can't do anything until the medicaid shows it is active. She looked it up and it says pending but that wasn't good enough for her. it takes 15days to process well that is the maximum time limit they have. and 15days will be this sunday. Hopefully I will have it by monday. I am sorry if i seem like i don't know what I am talking about I am just really scared and bc I keep bleeding with cramps it is really freaking me out.

I'm so sorry you are going through all of this with no clear answers. My m/c I started brown spotting the morning before I went to the ER and passed everything. The midwife I went to see that day checked and saw that the bleeding was coming from my uterus. Where they able to tell if that is where yours was coming from? I had very strong pain for only about an hr and a half. Have you passed any blood clots? If it starts to get really bad again go lay down have your feet up and drink plenty of water.

HUGS! I know it's hard and scary when so much is going on....with my last m/c I did not bleed at all - i had a missed-miscarriage and had a D&C. The loss before that however I had spotting and bleeding on and off - however my beta's were slow to rise and low for where i should have been. Your numbers sound good and spotting and bleeding in the first trimester is common. Def follow up with your doctor as soon as you can - and if medicare is taking to long - register for WIC and see one of their doc's. Good luck hun!

Cramps in early pregnancy are totally okay. they do feel like AF cramps. some ladies have bleeding and the pregnancy still turns out okay. it could be that your cervix is irritated or there could be a small tear or maybe you are straining too much doing a bm.
I never bled before my m/c. So just because you are bleeding doesn't mean that is what is happening. I would definately take it easy if you can...even stay in bed as much as possible. Hopefully your dr. can take some more bt and see if your beta levels are still rising and by 5 1/2 weeks you should be able to see a gestational sac and yolk sac at least maybe even the fetal pole.
I hope that everything will turn out okay with your bean!!!!!
Another thought is that sometimes you may be carrying two babies and one doesn't make it ant that is why you are bleeding. I think that is what happened to one of our grads a little while back.
HUGS!!!!
