Hi everyone! My name is Ashley (23) and my wonderful DH is Jason (24). We just got married on 9/18/09...and have been TTC for 14 months with a couple months breaks in there while planning the wedding. Before the wedding we had had 3 early losses, then in December I found out I was pregnant again and then went on to miscarry again, so unfortunately thats 4 for us now. Im having a really rough time right now with all of this. I feel like I will NEVER get a sticky bean, never a pregnancy test that gets past the "faint line" mark... Just last month I met with my RE and I love him, he is so sweet and says he is going to figure this out for me and get us pregnant with a healthy baby. So right now we are in the process of all the testing...im waiting for my results. I just wanted to re-introduce myself here because im feeling more and more alone in this and like i dont belong in all the other places i post because no on understands

Hi Ashley,
I am so sorry for all you have been through! It is just not fair. I hope you do find support here. I felt the same way, like some of the other boards out there just didn't get it. The ladies here are wonderful, it just takes a bit of time to get to know everyone's story. I hope you get that sticky BFP soon.

Ashley - I completely understand how you feel. I too (as you know) have had 4 early losses. I felt that "don't belong" feeling for a long time. It takes a long time to figure out who you are now that you are a "habitual miscarriage survivor". I have not fully figured out who I am right now and I don't think I ever will stop adjusting to life as it is now. But I can tell you that these ladies are great. It's nice to be able to vent/cheer/scream for all the steps along this tough journey.
What kind of testing is getting done? Are they leaning towards any sort of solution?

How coincidental that I got a call from my Dr just about 20 mins ago with my results...ill just copy & paste...
My dr. just called me on my work phone so i was freaking out and scared. He said "Do you have a minute to talk" which scared me even more. He started to get into everything, and said it all came back normal accept one thing. So we have your answer! He said "We tested for MTHFR" right there my heart dropped. I started to bawl my eyes out I dont know if it was because I knew that I did have something and I wasnt crazy and all these miscarriages were happening and now I have a reason for it all, or because I do have something wrong with me and its upsetting. Anyway he went on to explain I dont have both genetic MTHFR mutations...I just have one mutation. Which he explained is good! I mean its bad, because thats the reason for all my lost babies...but its better to only have one mutation instead of two. So I am "MTHFR heterozygeous" as he put it. The AWESOME thing is since I dont have the two mutations...all I have to do is take a pill called folgard twice a day and he said the effects are immediate. I CAN HAVE A HEALTHY BABY AS EARLY AS NEXT CYCLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant believe this!!!! This totally takes away the sadness from my huge temp drop today. Because even if I was pregnant I would have most likely miscarried anyway...so now I can take my medicine and be confident next time I get pregnant it WILL BE A STICKY ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i cant stop crying because ive felt like I would never get an answer, and now I can actually be confident that the next time we get pregnant it will most likely stick!!! I cant even believe it!! This is an amazing day! One I have waited for, for so long!
ETA: Thanks for the warm welcome girls. I can already say I feel very comfortable here, with other girls who know what im going through and what ive been through.

What a wonderful update, doc called already with your results and can get your started on a regimen that can help you get, carry and deliver a healthy pregnancy & baby!
Welcome Ashley, but I am sorry that you are joining under such sad circumstances. Its' hard to go thru one loss, but several tears you apart inside. You're NOT alone, there are many who've had more than one loss and many with the MTHFR mutation(s). I've had a few losses myself, but never went thru genetic testing.
This has been an awesome source of support for the later part of my journey. Everyone is here under similar circumstance and that's how we have so much compassion & support

That's great news. I know its bad to have something "wrong" but believe me it is WAY better than getting the "you are completely normal" answers that I am getting. At least you have a plan and a solution!!
