When I see people post their Betas they always say at least HCG and progesterone. My doctor never does a progesterone count in my Betas. Even though I ask him to. Should I find another Dr or is it more common to just do HCG? I'd really like to know if low progesterone is what is causing my losses but he refuses to test it!

Depending on what the Dr beleives is IF they will test... Alot of Dr beleive that if the pregnancy is non viable.. it will cause the progesterone to be low.. the body's way of not holding on to it... While others believe that low progesterone makes the body the losses the pregnancy.. these drs will check your progesterone.. or just put you on them...

My Dr checks Progesterone as soon as you call with a + HPT... he brings you in and checks both the HCG and Progesterone.. My last pregnancy in Aug.. I was on the cusp.. so they put me on it.. So now since I am on clomid... as soon as he brings my in for my U/S to make sure I have mature follies.... he tells me what day to start the progesterone... (Also the most effective way to use the suplemement Progesterone is to start it with 24 hours of Ovulation). Alot of Dr feel if you start it at th first HPT it is too late... BUT all this is depending on the Dr. Thier is so many different beliefs on early m/c... HUGS to you.

My Dr would not test for this either. I had gotten a false pos one month and the first thing I call to ask for was for them to test my progesterone. The nurse talked to my Dr and called me back and said that he did not feel inclined to test for that at this time. I have no idea why. I really like my Dr so I have no idea why he wouldnt want to test for this since I have had a loss already. I dont see why its anything off there back to just test it. There getting paid so why not.

This is my thoughts exactly. Even if he doesn't think it's the problem... it doesn't hurt him in any way! And it makes me feel better.
