Maybe this will help someone. After two chemical pgs., I ended up switching docs. My original ob/gyn wasn't taking too much action to help me it seems. The second doc came highly recommended by a co-worker who'd also experienced multiple chemicals and is not happily 4 months pg.
The new doc ordered bloodwork and after waiting 3 weeks, I was able to go and discuss the results with her. In the mean time, while we waited on the results, she told me to start taking baby aspirin and extra folic acid (in addition to the prenatal I was already taking).
We found out that I have blood clotting issues. Each one, individually, from what I understood, would not be too big of a deal. But since there are two of them, there is more reason to be concerned. I have a protein S deficiency and also have the Heterozygous C MTHFR gene mutation.
The plan of action for a future pg is to do Lovenox injections once I have a bfp. I told her I was nervous that we wouldn't start the injections until the bfp, as I felt that in my case I was usually already in trouble by the time I was getting my bfps. She said the baby aspirin should get me over that hump this time. She also wants me on Prometrium, whatever it takes I guess.
We (DH & I) get a free session with a genetic counselor due to my MTHFR gene mutation. Then once pg again, I'll be considered a "high-risk" patient and will see my regular ob/gyn along with a perinatologist throughout the pregnancy--lots of extra special attention and care.
